Monster Washington Razor Clams

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Me and the family getting out to hunt down some clams. They all were giants in size. We did have a blast together, never knew it would be so fun. I hope this will get people to want and try to go clamming, it is great outdoor fun. If you like give me a thumbs up, to let me and wife know. Thanks

Thanks man, for watching. We are really glade to hear you liked them. I love it that people in this area are watching and talking about us. I like to see others getting into prospecting and seeing the look on peoples faces when they find and see there first look at some yellow color flashing in there pan. Shot me the address to your store, and I'll be sure to stop on in. Always is great talk to someone that likes and thinks about gold as much as me. Talk to you soon, and thanks for the comment.

Several names, but I just ordered a "Razor Clam Gun" on Amazon for the opening coming up in this same area! It pretty much the same as in the vid. Real excited to go! (delayed since scheduled opening of 10/24 due to high level of natural occurring domoic acid. Has to be less than 20 parts per million for two weeks straight before they will allow harvesting).

Now that I'm in Montana, I have to have my buddies go to Pike Place Market and buy me some and send them to me overnight. Once you've had them, nothing else compares. Very buttery and tasty! Salt is for different type of clam on east coast. Wouldn't work for west coast razors. They are doing it nearly exactly right, but should angle the gun slightly towards the water. The clams don't go straight down and thats why she broke that one.

+Diana Filosopo -- The salt method works on razor fish (called razor clams in some parts of the world), but it does not work on Pacific razor clams. They dig too deep, and the holes in the sand are too small.

Diana Filosopo -- It's not so much the place, per se, as it is the type of animal. What's called a razor clam in some places is not the same as what's called a razor clam in other places. The salt method works on razor fish, because they only dig down a little way, with part of their bodies just below the surface. Pacific razor clams dig deep, and there is only a small tunnel left running up the to surface.

Those are definitely razor clams, no doubt about it. Zeanora geoducks are over twice as large and look considerably different. Razor clams get up to 12" long in areas like Alaska, but in WA State (I live there) they are generally 6" or smaller with record size around 7" and most good ones 5" long or so. They found some real nice ones in this vid

+SeikiBrian Hey dude are you related to a Stacey Seiki from San Francisco? He was a childhood friend that i went to school with back in the day(sixties). Getting back to razor clamming 80% of these people making comments about them have never dug them and they watch video with people pouring salt on a hole in Scottland, England, and think why not pour them on the razor clams along the Pacific Northwest of the US. I live in Seattle but i have dug razors at Greyland, Ocean Shores, Moclips and those little bugers can dig deep&fast which means the salt method will not work as i tried it about 5yrs ago and wasted a box of salt with no luck whatsoever.

w ching -- No relation;sorry. The Seiki in my user name comes from having been a member of Seiki Ryu (True Spirit School) kenjutsu and jodo before the schools in the Seattle area closed some years ago. Yeah, the people advocating salt don't know the difference between razor fish and razor clams.
