I'm happy for you and your wife. You made me envious. I haven't been out fishing in a few weeks. Just a bit of advise: Wet your hands before handling the fish and handle it as little as possible. This minimizes the chance of them losing the protective slime on their scales.

Awesome fish! Congrats on your PB!! I caught my PB a few weeks back there in Calaveras on my kayak. 33.5” 14.9lbs.. Felt like I hooked into that gator swimming out there!!

Nice red man.. biggest I've caught off a boat at calaveras was 31 inch.. wife caught 33 inch.. havent fished off the bank for reds out there

Nice catch. Next time I suggest bleeding him out by cutting his throat and putting him back in the water to keeping his heart pumping out the blood. This helps tremendously on thinning out that red Line in the middle of the meat that turns brown when you cook it.
