@@MetFan37 both of you are correct. He is doing a completely different rendition here and not trying to imitate his original. Also, songs that are heavily produced like this one, never sound the same as the studio version. BUT, yeah you can tell that his voice sounds weaker here as well.

I was 6 years old when this Hit came out. My 2 Brothers and I had the Measles, and couldn't go out to Trick or Treat, so we played it over & over while Mom & Dad did the Twist to it to keep us happy! What an icon this guy is, he truly is; good fun and all.

In 1987 my soon to be wife and I went to a place called Spooky World in Berlin, Mass. I had a bad cold. As we waited outside in the freezing weather for a hay ride we passed by a stage area. The door swung open and the man himself, Bobby Boris Pickett, came out and sang this song. Suddenly I forgot all about my cold and the cold. What a treat not a trick! ALL true!

2021 the monster mash was a TOP 40 HIT. From 1962 all the way to 2021, it made it to number 37 on billboard. Timeless classic
Who's listening in 2021? Still a Halloween classic, and he sounded exactly the same 50 odd years after the original
Awesome song! These kids will always remember they got to dance with Bobby Boris Picket singing the Monster Mash.
This was a very clever fun song. The way Bobby sung it was genius. The 1962 version was perfect.
Bobby seems like a cool humble dude. Wish I was there to see him live
Been listening to this song my ENTIRE life almost. I was born in 61. Always loved this song.

My dad purchased this when it came out on a 7"single (45) and I still have it
I can’t with the jumping kids and the jumping spider🤣🤣🤣🤣
You need to check out his video from the early sixties. His facial expressions were fantastic.
The Halloween song to end all Halloween songs.
I read in the comments on one video of this song somebody wondering if he ever got tied of doing this. I figure he felt about this song the same as Boris Karloff said he felt about the Frankenstein monster that made him so famous. Mr. Karloff called it the darling monster. This song is much like that darling monster. It's a part of many kids fondest memories both young and old. I'm 67 now and when I hear this song I'm a young girl again for a few moments. Delightful.
What a great job he did..! Passed on April 25, 2007 age 69 R.I.P.
"I'm still here", good one Bobby.
