Hey Bouse, you missed one thing in this guide that is super fun to do and if you haven't used it already you're in for a good time. The bow has a unique wall jump attack if you special dodge into a walljump wall (trees with mushrooms and so on) this attack does solid damage and seems to be very good at breaking monster parts! Have fun and thanks for the guides, I shared the insect glaive one with a friend and it helped him out greatly!

Great guide man! But some extra things to remember: when firing the dragon piercer it will deal more damage if you charge up first, dragon piercer also takes up a coating charge, as such the most powerful attack you can do is to put on a power coating>charge to level 3>activate dragon piercer The special shots use the coatings as well, but the arc shot (mortar spiky bois) don't. The quick shot (if all arrows hit) deals more damage than the level one shot, as such it also charges the next shot, therefore if you are close enough you can quick shot> level 2 charge shot> level 3 charge shot> power shot for max dps combo (be wary this uses lots of stamina) Lastly there is an effective range of the bow, if you're reticle is yellow then you need to get closer as you will be doing less damage, you'll know when you're in effective range when your reticle is orange (and you'll be doing significantly more damage)

The bow is fast becoming my favourite weapon! I’ve always loved bows in games and in the real world lol it feels really good in this game dancing around monsters and filling them with arrows.. so good 😈

Shooting the Arc Shot after a charge will increase the duration of the attack. Each level increases the duration even more.

Damn it Bousefeenux, every time I watch one of these videos it makes me want to play the weapon, currently I use a dual blade, charge blade, insect glave, and switch axe(waiting on that guide) and I have to stop from using all my stuff making a new weapon type

Dragan Thats not it at all lmao, he wouldnt give up a game he built his channel on just because he didnt get invited to an event. Hes mainly uploading monster hunter right now because its new, has a way bigger fanbase and is a breath of fresh air. Hes been uploading For Honor since it came out, I dont blame him for sticking to Monster hunter when hes having alot more fun. He will probably be back to For Honor when season 5 starts.

Hey, interesting bow tip, if you dodge toward certain walls such as ones with mushroom ridges on them, you'll do a sick kick flip that does a pretty good amount of damage

Thank you so much for doing this weapon! I didn't even know about the melee attack till now, what bows would you recommend I make and follow the tree?

Also the power shot shoots 5 arrows instead of 3 with the neutral circle shot and the arc shot although does not do a whole lot of damage it is amazing at breaking parts. If you get a couple of arc shots on a certain part of a downed monster it will almost guaranteed break the part.

A few more tips: If you spam the circle button (or b for Xbox) you will alternate between spread shot and The Big Bag O’ Rocks. It’s great for when solo and the monster is downed. Spamming this combo at a monsters head stacks the stun damage very quickly, often allowing you to stun the monster as it’s getting up for some additional damage. Also, when in a group, if you are fighting a flying monster like Legiana or Rathalos and are the only one with ranged attacks, make sure to target the wings. It brings the monster down quicker and allows your party to hit it sooner. Same with flashflies. You can target them from a range, so if there are natural flashflies around, be sure to shoot them and bring that beast to the ground.

Good tip that i didnt see in te video, if you shoot, dodge, and shoot again w.o moving the right stick, you shoot at the same spot as the first shot. Even if you dodge foward and pass the target, you will auto aim behind you

Bow is one of the most versatile and easy ranged weapons to get into. Don't forget your close range coating btw, If your comfortable with a monsters moveset - or just really good at dodging - you can keep close and deal solid damage without burning through your power coating so quickly.

or three, get really used to using Close Combat Coatings because you literally can not run out of those, they can make combat a little more hair raising however, with how close to the beasty you end up being more often then not to get good damage

I hope they add G rank just for the redesigned azure rathalos armor, that outfit is tight

Bagpipes guide next? Or maybe switchaxe?

Protip: doing a charged dodge at charge lvl three and firing repeatedly keeps your charge at level 3 for insane dps!Also get the Constitution perk to allow for spamming of this in fights, end stamina gauge with dragon piercer if possible.

Can you do the regular lance next?

Could you do a guide for the light bow gun? I've recently started using it and I've been having fun with it. However, I'm not exactly sure where I should be aiming. I try to aim for the tail when it still has the tail and once that is done I am for the head. Is this a correct strategy or is there something else that I am missing. I know about the different ammo types but they don't always seem to work. Poison Bullets don't do s**t.

Robipony monsters have different weakpoints depending on species. With most the head, and tail are good spots to go for. (Wings if it has em too) so try to learn the best spots for ypu to aim by checking their weakspots on the field guide. it will also tell you the effectiveness of the type of dmg (i.e slicing, blunt, or bullet) next for statuses, bullets come in different levels. So try to craft higher lvl ammo. Also use heavy bowgun. It kicks ass and wyvernheart is best.

Can do axeblade next?

So whats a good armor set for bow users? I just unlocked high rank armors etc. Dont really see set bonises for bows. Or can u change skills on armor?

Requiem Jigo You cant change skills on armor, unfortunately, but you can set decorations on certain weapons and armor that give you certain skill boosts/bonuses. As for recommendations, Bouse has listed a few - but if you dont have or see any of the bonuses listed then its high time that you do some Assigned quests and hopefully you'll find some monsters that'll give you what you want.

Yeeaaah.... Ranged weapons were pretty painful in handhelds. Bow was more or less the easiest to use, thanks to being more close-ranged, meaning less actual aiming. Notably, bows were pretty much my "anti-small-insect" weapon of choice, though bowguns were sometimes better against flying ones. The fact that you could mix up poison-coated shots and melee swings was really neat. It might seem odd, but i always liked the insect armors. Nerscylla's gear was some of my favorite in general in 4, though that one *ISN'T* small by any means, haha. I really hope they pun Nerscy in World, it's such a cool monster.

What i wonna know is how you cut the tail off from that Radoban with a bow. I am using a bow rn and i pretty much know how it works and where to shoot, not every monster but those that i fought. I always menage to brake parts od the body and kill th monster with a bow but u have never cut the tail off. XD

Make some elder dragon guides already ;P

That's a shame. Gunner weapons have always been pretty damn good in the past. Really the older guns are way better than the world variants. The only thing world gunning has over older mh gunners is mobility. And I guess the bows dragon piercer is pretty great too. But seriously. Old bow and bowguns felt way more powerful than even slice shot spam in this game. On the other hand. Talking about power coatings. In the older games they gave a 50% damage bonus. While in this game it's only a 30% bonus. The thing that made older guns better is critical distance. While in this game it's more essential distance. Gunner weapons are still fun in this game. They just feel slightly weaker now. Especially now that heavy gun lost its crouch fire and light bowguns massive list of rapid shots are gone and limited to very very few attacks. For new people. There use to be rapid slice, rapid piece lv 1,2&3 rapid spread lvl1,2,&3 rapid ailments, rapid crag(or I guess it was renamed to sticky) and even then there were shots that could rapid 2 shots at a time (mostly ailments) rapid 3 shots in a row( the norm) and even shots that can rapid 4 at a time. And there was an ability let you shoot one more. That means that 4 rapid became 5. As for bows. Well I do miss the old bows. But I love the way they play now. Now feels right as rain the way it is now. But still feels like it got weaker than it use too. The bowguns though feel like mostly a downgrade of what they use to be just to get better mobility.
