DB is my most played weapon so here is some extra info :p The Archdemon Mode flurry does more total damage than the Demon Mode Blade Dance, and can be interrupted. Piercing Bind can be used in any direction, you can turn around using it and then keep attacking facing that way. With 3 wirebugs, you can tower vault, press x, tower vault, press x... Again and again while in demon mode and stay airborn for a very long time. Going for the spinning blade dance every time you are midair is a bad habit. It will get you killed often and is also a loss of dps on toppled monsters. Demon flight has insane motion values for DB and Iframes. Making Demon Flight + Aerial combo a very powerful combo. A, wait for apex of your jump, X, wait to land, X, X, X. Then you can loop into an other Demon Flight. Feral Demon Mode reduces stamina consumption and gives 20% Attack. You can skip the animation by entering it while airborn. You can cancel the ending animation of Piercing bind with a dodge forward, which is great with Feral Demon Mode. Piercing Bind, dodge, Blade Dance. You can spin trough prety much anything with the right timing on Shrouded Vault. Including Roars, Rajang Beam, Teostra Nova. ETC. You can also use it when out of stamina, like after doing 3-4 Aerial Blade Dances in a row. Land and Shrouded Vault to safety. Always keep a Wirebug for Shrouded Vault, you do more damage alive and on your feet than with one more Piercing Bind but dead.

If you X immediately after Demon Flight you'll do the X at low altitude, then land and X attack just twice before going into Demon Flight again. This way you'll maximize DPS, Flight , avoid getting hit because of the long animation, and have more control. Also it works with every monster even if they have lower weak point.

Just some extra things I have to share about dual blades since I use them a lot: - The final hit of the demon mode x-combo gives A LOT of meter for arch demon mode. - Demon flight has a dummy thicc number of s. (Your invincible pretty much the entire time spinning upwards) If timed right, its an easy way to ignore roars and other attacks as well. - Tower vault can be used in the air - I'm not 100% sure, but I tested it and from what I've seen, tower vault also has s when used in the air. - Feral demon mode's starting animation can be cancelled by activating it in the air - In demon mode, if you have 3 wirebugs, you can stay in the air indefinitely by chaining the aerial x-attack into tower vault.

Hey, DB main here and I gotta say great guide you cover most of what the weapon has to offer. However, as you said, you don't tend to play DB so I think that there are a few things that you missed. -Demon dodge/demon slash dodge, these moves will replace the dodge when in demon or archdemon, (the slash dodge will only occur in feral demon mode, not archdemon.) This will move you the same distance as the dodge roll that all weapons have however it comes out much faster and can be quickly chained. Chaining this will quickly get you out of harm's way with little danger but eat up your stamina very quickly as well, think of it more like a boost than a dodge, as using this will speed you up greatly. Imo good usage of this dodge either makes or breaks the weapon for me thus why this part is so extensive. -Range, ever wonder why dual blades mains trip people so much instead of attacking the tail like they're supposed to. Well excluding that the head is always a much better hit zone for all weapons than any other part of the body, even though cutting weapons should do more damage to the tail. It's also because DB often can't hit the tail, when the monster is standing the tail is most of the time out of reach and when it's down the damn thing flails around so much that you do about 50% damage with your demon dances. This also applies to piercing bind, which is why you always want a good opening. Although I believe the way capcom handles hit zones, tripping, weapon types, and tails in general is not that great it is the cards we've been dealt. (To cutting mains, try not to trip others, attack wherever you want as long as it's not in other peoples way) (and to other weapon mains that complain about being tripped *cough* hammer *cough* please just slot in flinch free it makes everyone's experience so much better.) Sorry for the tangent -Combos with piercing bind, piercing bind will put you back, and doing a demon dance here will make you do a fraction of the damage, other than the two you mentioned (flurry rush and feral demon mode) follow up a piercing bind with demon flight (specifically if the monster is not down) and demon dash (Much more useful if in feral demon mode) -Movement with demon flight, self-explanatory, while not as good for movement as flurry rush, demon flight does launch you forward and can be used for repositioning. -Movement with spinning blade dance, while midair doing a spinning blade dance will work as a sort of dodge, it isn't as good as a regular dodge, but makes ariel much more reliable. -Constitution/evade extender since you mentioned marathon runner I thought I would mention these, these two are my prefered DB skills that I include in every build I make (narga waist and tobi gloves specifically.) Evade extender combined with demon dash will move you at very high speeds, basically nullifying the downside of feral demon mode. Meanwhile, constitution allows you to use demon dash almost constantly, making it your primary source of movement. -Piercing bind damage, last one. Don't quote me on this but I believe that piercing bind does damage based on the number of times you hit the monster instead of the actual damage you do, this makes feral demon dash very effective. Secondly is something that I'm sure of, despite doing so much damage piercing bind IS NOT affected by elemental damage or critical hits, no matter the build it's still a good choice, but this does make tower vault much more useful.

FYI- Tower Vault pairs really well with Demon Flight. You mentioned that Demon Flight requires a huge aerial commitment with how easy it is to do (which it does), and its really easy to just naturally go into it when you are trying to close a gap and you accidentally vault straight up into a attack. You can actually use Tower Vault in the air, which means that you can kind of spam demon flight without really any risk of being caught in air with no options. Pair this with Feral Demon Mode, and you can be incredibly aggressive in the air and do an absolutely absurd amount of damage, particularly since you will get more and more opportunities to spam the Beyblade/ Levi attack.

In Feral/Demon Mode, immediately press X after Demon Flight and you'll not perform the automatic jump attack but do the X at low altitude instead. Making it less frame commitment so you'll not get caught while airborne, and it actually does more DPS if you land, do X attack twice, then loop Flight combo again. You also can still press A away from the length of monster after midair X to do the downward spin so that it's not going into the spine spin, then immediately hold the stick toward the monster again to do Finisher that is easier to hit because of, again, the low altitude. In Arch Demon Mode, just do Flight > A toward longer part of the monster > Flight > loop to maximize Finisher damage. If the monster is down with its weak point next to a wall, I think this combo is the highest DPS you can do if you do Flight > A into the wall again and again.

sword and shield and dual blades seem to be some of the better small weapons for newer players (myself included), but if you're on PC bowguns are pretty straight forward, hunting horn and hammer are also really solid choices for simple weapons to get started with. Lastly (in my based opinion) insect glaive is really good if you want to ignore allot of mechanics, including roars and stomps, due to constantly being in the air and having ear drums. Also helps ignore sharpness to some extent as while aireal attacking you will always do normal hits and they won't bounce. Hope this helps for some ideas on getting started!

Hey Rurikan, amazing video! I think though there's a couple thing worth mentioning with the dual blades that you didn't touch on. You mentioned that leaping attacks leav you open in the air but if you take the tower vault switch skill it can be used to dodge attacks if you're about to get hit midair Thats the advantage over just sheathing your weapon. Also as others have mentioned that leaping attack has I frames and can be used as a counter of sorts. Another great thing about dual blades is that you dash instead of dodge while you're in demon mode and arch demon mode, when you combine this with evade extender it can make you highly mobile even with the speed loss in feral demon mode, I think you can actually outdash the palamutes sprint.

I like it, it has really fast wirebug recovery. My issue is that with High Rank, Apex hunts and with possible G Rank (not soon, but in the future), monsters are really big. That makes lingering hit boxes and any hit box that makes the entire mon a hit box difficult to avoid. Like Apex Diablos is HUGE. Tower Vault when your midair to dodge attacks would be ideal, but covers Luke the entire zone when you fight him.

There are a lot of ways to get into the air for DB like you demonstrated and that makes it redundant imo. It's a tough sell. If only the switch skill would be something like a one-hit big damage move, then it could help us with sleep bombing which DBs are not very good at. Feral Demon Mode is somewhere between 18%~20% Raw boost I believe.

I don’t play a lot of dual blades but my favorite weapon design is the Wyvern lovers from the Ratholos tree so I mess with them from time to time because I love how that weapon looks. I find for switch skills I like tower vault over piercing bind since I can get into the air without sheathing and I tend to wiff the bind a lot. I also like tower vault because demon flight like you said is very monster dependent as I don’t always want to be sent into the air so tower vault gives me the option while getting to keep demon flurry rush. Feral demon mode wins strictly for the attack boost and the hit while dodging is a bonus.

If you demon flight from archdemon mode you can tower vault swap to demon mode mid air doing another spin and allowing you to spin down the spine refilling your archdemon. Which you can repeat and spin up to the front of the monster if you have bugs or just demon flurry them in the butt. Tower vault also gives you an added layer of protection since you are vulnerable right after falling back to the ground for a second and with vault you can jump over sweep attacks and such.

9:11 interesting little shortcut here, after you hit X + A to start the Demon Flurry Combo, you can actually just hit X for the other two parts of the Demon Flurry combo. 19:02 with your Demon Flight to X (Midair Roundslash) combo, if you are fast enough, you can actually add and A (Midair Spinning Blade Dance) at the end. if your positioning is right you can fly right into the Beyblade. Some other interesting aspects to Dual Blades is that if you are in Demon Mode or Arch-Demon Mode and you Demon Dash (B) off a ledge you will preform a Midair Spinning Blade Dance. if you hit the monster during this, more often than not, you can enter into Beyblade from that attack. So, I personally suggest regular demon mode for the aerial play style. Your main goal with the aerials is to find openings to spin on the monster and that extra movement speed helps keep you safe and find those openings. Feral meanwhile is fantastic on the ground for max DPS and the bonus positioning from Demon Flurry Rush. Plus the piercing bind “combo” into feral demon mode. Also, arch demon modes x+a seems to deal much more damage than blade dance in demon mode.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but one thing to note about Demon's Flight is that it's pretty darn fast at getting monsters into a mountable state without having to expend wire bug charges. Usually a single flight will be enough to make a non-target monster mountable while target monsters take 2-3 depending on how many hits you land. But that aside, (Levi) Flight is definitely more useful on larger monsters as it gives you some much needed verticality...which honestly is the majority of them so you'll want to keep it as your standard skill. Swap out for Flurry Rush for smaller stuff like Great Wroggi, Great Baggi, Lagombi etc. If you're trying to break certain parts of a monster for specific drops be mindful of which skill you use too. Flight is great for getting at heads, backs, wings and tails...especially on larger monsters...while Flurry is better for limbs and smaller monsters in general.

Piercing bind can work well with the demon flight switch skill. Especially if the monster has a long spine and tail but the opening is not big enough for the x+a combo. I also prefer speed over power. Makes it easier to flank the monster and let'em rip. Also don't forget the aerial x attack that doesn't make you spin along the spine. With this you can hit the face of Goss Harag and similar monsters. With demon flight it's best to first activate demon mode then engage. By doing this you have more control over whether or not to stay on the ground or go up in the air. You don't want to accidentally do a draw attack into demon flight. For feral demon mode the Zr is also an attack so maybe initialize feral demon mode when up close with an opening.

Tower vault has been useful for me with demon flight, in demon or archdemon mode you can still activate demon flight, which makes this move super useful as a vault into the air to achieve ridiculous horizontal movement. It's not quite insect glaive, but it's almost as quick as using the sheathed Lt+x wirebug move then an EEx3 dodge, which is wildly useful as a re-engagement technique to chase without interrupting DPS with a sheathe

About Tower vault, if you do the normal midair attack while in demon mode you can chain a tower vault after it into another normal combo into the spin or another vault into normal into spin as it charges so fast. Also, I'm not 100% sure but it feels like it has i-frames on startup that normal wire moves do not have, works very well with Demon Flight. It is possible to jump mid fight while putting away the weapon but having tower vault also gives you options while having access to the counter as well but because you were in the training mode you couldn't show off the wire counter. Specific stuff I know but just something to note because we all have varying play styles

I got this little design nitpick about the gauge I wanna share. You got two swords in that gauge, but only the front blade is used. They missed the opportunity of making use of the back blade, make it glow to show you're in demon mode instead of just an outline glow. Front blade functions the same way it does, building up meter for arch demon mode.

I think one thing people might be missing about switch skills such as tower vault, hail cutter, hunting edge, shrouded vault and power sheath, is that they function very similarly to their default function when your weapon is sheathed. Why is this important? Because it can help players the input to commands they want to do even if it's not necessarily correct. For instance, if you press (zl + a) with the dualblades/greatsword, you may not always do a wiredash, but since your weapon's switch skill clones the function of a wiredash the result is almost identical. The same can be said about skills like tower vault, the default function when your weapon is sheathed is it throws you up in the air, but some switch skills do very similar things. I think this is very much on purpose and it's help reinforce these wirebug shortcuts, something that new players might end up ignoring by instead using (zl+zr) to wirebug, but they are actually very useful shortcuts to input wirebug maneuvers in a pinch.

Small note about piercing vine. The damage piercing vine doesn't stack :(. What I mean is normally when you deal damage with piercing vine active, it will amplify the damage when piercing vine ends, however you can't use the final hit of piercing vine to amply the damage of a newly activated piercing vine. This means chaining piercing vines together is more or less pointless, kinda disappointing because it would have been cool to chain 2 or even 3 piercing vines together to deal massive damage, but in its current state it's better to wait for a piercing vine to end before applying a new one.

If you decide to use demon flurry rush instead of demon flight (maybe you're fighting a small monster to staying grounded might end up dealing more dmg), you can just press X A X A X A etc and do an infinite combo while repositioning constantly. You can be dealing continuous dmg for like 30 secs straight or something. Works even better if you have blast on your weapon.

Turns out I was simply going above the hit box for damage but it does ignore strong roars so you can use it as an opener when you start the fight

Demon flight eats a monsters hurt box because it has higher priority. It means if you time the impact, you dont take damage. It worked exactly the same way as Aerial in GU, except way better because it doesnt replace your dodge and doesnt do the stupid roll if you miss. You can test the invulnerability against huge vertical hits, like Naruga tail slam and come out unscathed.

I know super old video, but one thing I'm surprised no one has mentioned is that so long as you keep attacking, even if you run out of stamina you stay in (arch) demon mode. While of course this means you cant dodge, if you get used to openings and i-frames of demon vault and always have a silk bind available, it allows for ridiculous damage and makes dodging not as necessary (depending on the monster of course)

I am choosing between the dual blades vs the hunting horn.mthe hunting horn seems so overpowered because you can just constantly buff yourself, and one of those buffs is just a straight heal that you can spam. Huntingbhorn does a ton of damage too. The dual blades is a fast weapon that does a ton of damage, allows you to dodge attacks easily, procs statuses a lot, and is really flashy. So I don't know what to use.

  • @emblemblade9245

    @emblemblade9245

    3 жыл бұрын

I wouldn’t bother with hungerless, you can carry plenty of rations etc. Stamina surge recharges stamina quickly, constitution reduces “burst” stamina loss (so when an action drains a chunk of stamina at once, like evading or the midair demon blade dance), and marathon runner reduces gradual stamina loss (such as from running or the stamina loss from demon mode). It really depends on how you like to play DBs, but they all make a great difference. If you use midair demon blade dance a lot, constitution and stamina surge are ideal because that moves eats huge chunks of stamina. If you like to stay in demon mode for a long time while doing ground attacks, then marathon runner is my priority. I wouldn’t say you need to combine marathon runner and stamina surge ever, because just one of them fulfills stamina upkeep adequately and both is overkill. Lastly, if you evade a lot, constitution.

You wanted people’s opinion on tower vault so here it is. I think it can be useful if you want to pull off the Levi move easily, however if you have demon flight , then I wouldn’t want towering vault on it as well. Since both get you into the air to do the Levi move, you probably don’t want both. I would prefer demon flight due to the extra damage you get off of it, but it’s really up to the play to pick their style of combat. It’s fun to see how all different kinds of people play the game differently. Even with the same basic combos there’s so many ways to customize and play that everybody can find something they enjoy.

The problem with doing that is your lack of mobility after. In order to even walk away you have to wait for an animation taking you out of demon mode and dodging is literally nonexistent. Even in rise if you're caught out with no stamina against any of the elders or the apexes and even some things like diablos or tigrex then you're pretty much screwed and there's nothing you can do about it any more cause all your options for escape are also tied to your stamina

@@mb9484 starting in World they did a massive overhaul of how bow works. Charge levels are still there, but it's no longer just the "hold to increase charge" method, instead you can hold your shot, fire a shot, or dodge, and you will increase your shot level. In addition, if you're at max charge, the ONLY action that will drop you back to charge level 1 is to either do nothing, or to start a new charge. Dodging, readying an arrow during a dodge, or using a power shot will increase or maintain your current charge. This results in a playstyle where you charge to full, fire, do two power shots, dodge, shoot while dodging, power shot x2, dodge, shoot while dodging, power shot x2 repeat until you're out of stamina. Essentially, you need to be able to keep aiming at the weak point whilst dodging and doing power shots. It's a very simple playstyle to talk about, but DAMN it's fiddly to pull off (especially without gyro, since you need to use A to do power shots, meaning no camera control stick use)
