FBI ! If you check his profile in the hunter notes it says he’s a flying wyvern. This is because supposedly he USED to have wings and flew but as Ukanlos evolved it didn’t need wings anymore and lost them. You can even see where wings might have been on the body if you look

Yeah, pretty much exactly what happened. Akantor's however, are a little more obvious. It has a hook on each of its front legs that curves backwards in a similar manner to a wing. That might mean that Akantor either found a reason to keep those hooks around, or it's not as derived from the ancestral Flying Wyvern as Ukanlos is.

@@HuMaNise34 Dashjuice? I have seen how it works, and it didnt provide infinite blocking. He still looses Stamina and can be killed by blocking whitout enough of it. Its infinity in every other Usage, besides blocking.

Ukanlos is nature's perfect ice monster with a massive body to withstand the harshest temperatures and with its shovel jaw able to break the hardest ice that there is with its webbed feet making it able to swim in water and i hunt this thing for fun along with the other deadly 4 being Akantor amatsu Nakarkos and Alatreon Edit: the sentence had a word i meant to take out to make better sense

OMG I just realised... Ukanlos could very well be a steelix evolution :0

The days of MH4U where you could Superman Dive over it while it was using the swimming attack.

This is my absolute favourite theme in the game after Shaggy, it manages to evoke both the feeling of badassery that comes with fighting a walking mountain and the panic that comes with the knowledge that one missed step could mean death perfectly.

Back in mhfu, I always thought Ukanlos was an elder dragon turns out he's a flying wyvern. Yet he doesn't look like a flying wyvern

It does have remnant of its wings on its arms. Same for Akantor. They used to fly back in the day. Maybe our Tigrex will one day lose its wings too?

If I remember the lore correctly, Ukanlos and Akantor used to be classified as Elder Dragons. They were only recently (as of Freedom Unite) classified as Flying Wyverns thanks to the discovery of Tigrex and Nargacuga.

@@warthogvanguard7292 Yeah my bad about that one. I didn’t know too much about Alatreon on day 1 of its release so I thought either diving or the ice pillars blocked a small part of the damage. With Ukanlos, this trick is much easier to do in 4U than GU since GU’s targeting is more accurate. In 4U you could align yourself with the diving Ukanlos and do a Superman dive. Because of its body shape, it would carry you right over. Another trick is with Gogmazios. Superman diving on the railing that goes up on the left side of the elevated part of the arena will make you shoot up, extending the dive for a while. It’s useful for dodging the oil beam explosion

@@meremsolomon4744 but, I believe ukanlos and akantor are same species tigrex it's not share or something connected species more like specific evolution because environment, it's similar copper blangonga but not evolution, actually caused colour fur and body has change, this is caused blango stay too long on desert.

The Start of the theme is like the temperature going down to the absolute zero as the quest is named like that

i really love how his and Akantor's theme sound like both monsters are true terrors of nature,just imagine walking on a ice field just to see this shit coming from a mile away or walking in a desolated vulcanic area just to catch a glimpse of a towering pitch black shape admist the heat waves-heck,even Frontier with Odibatorasu is terrific since if you eventually crossed paths with one there is no escape since mf CONTROLS SAND A.K.A the whole damn desert is a weapon to him AND has a dammed mortar on his back easily the most terrific category of monsters in the whole series for me

The "flying" wyvern

Ah, Ukanlos, one of my quickest Monster Hunter fights, and I swear it's not because I fainted 3 times instantly. It's because I was in a Ukanlos hub in Gen, and a random French guy joins. We let him join the quest, yada yada yada, we start, we go into the arena, and then BAM French man uses a flash bomb. I was perfectly fine with it seeing as I could do extra damage to it, but then another one, and another one, and another one. I felt like I was gonna have a seizure. I think he somehow hacked the game because my hubmates and I beat the Ukanlos in 3 minutes. It was amazing.

As the white god, this guy really needs to be added to the ice/snow themed game. Still waitin and hopin. Rusty Kushala, oroshi Kirin, and this guy all still have a chance

I wouldn’t say it’s bad, just boring. A cool monster, but the fight is so slow and kind of annoying

This theme is like... too hype for a slow ass monsters

if akantor is the 'black god', then why does ukanlos have a better theme?

Akantor is the World Conqueror though. Ukanlos just rules over some icy place! Both are cool buuuut I do think Akantor would kick Uka’s ass in a 1v1. Just seems better equipped for it.

@@emblemblade9245 lore wise they're both equally powerful. Akantor is just more aggressive then ukanlos and will venture out from its territory while ukanlos stay in their territory. And by aggressive I don't mean In battle I meant just their overall nature.

In mh4u i beat ukanlos first try. hes actually pretty easy for me.

There are so many Monsters I would've loved to see in world! But noooooo they made new monsters... It isn't bad some of them are really cool! I mean yeah *New* World *New* Monsters but still... There are SO MANY AMAZING monsters that aren't in world and I would've loved to see them in Worlds graphic... And I heard from somewhere can't remember where that Capcom won't really bring back old monsters because they want to create new ones...
