Thanks for sharing this! It shows you're really passionate about your work! The outcome is so crazy and colourful and it's very different to other music videos out there. I hope you make more music videos with Dodie (or anyone else!) in future ☺ I’m a animation student so I really enjoy watching ‘behind the scenes’ videos

I would love love love to see more behind the scenes stuff about this video, like how the costumes, make up and the puppets were made, a director's cut, shooting vlog (if there's any) or just simply bloopers. I really loved the music video, the way it fits to the song and the way it screams you. I can't get enough of your work.

I believe that he has horns because she Gave him the horns, like in she "cheated" on him, in my country we use an expression that can be translated to English to "putting the horns on someone" Wich is basically when someone gets cheated on. So there's that, and he cuts the horns because he always knew Snow put them there.

It said that only the king could go hunt and while going out he often would have some affairs with ladies. As a form of paying back, the husband of the woman with who the king has slept with could go hunting. So if you entered a house that had deer skulls on the walls, you could tell the man who lived there was 'the horned one'. That blog is in polish and unfortunately there's no source cited for this exact part. On Wikitionary it's mentioned such phrase exists also in English, French, Spanish, German and Modern Greek.

All these time I thought the main character was actually Dodie until I saw her later in the vid. 😅

From watching the video you can tell how much thought was put into it. It's one of those things you can watch over and over any everytime find something new you hadn't seen before. It's so wonderful!!

The 'Hello Internet' for PJ.

i didn't particularly want to watch dodie's music video but after seeing the animatics, i'm going to check it out immediately after watching this.

i thought Ness devouring his heart in the end was a literal take on the the "eat your heart out" phrase- which i imagine is what his Ex said to him in the bar

“the bomb-ass goblin herself” what a beautiful description. 12/10 accuracy

After watching that music video I now desire and want to see PJ and the Daniels (who directed Swiss Army Man) direct a film together

yanno occasionally you get a piece of work that combines the perfect sights, sounds, ideas, feelings and people, so that it is just a sensory masterpiece? yeh monster was one of those occasions

This made me actually really happy that pj and dodie teamed up for monster. They both have such good creativity and it's quite great.

I do like that both PJ and Dodie are in the video. Whether he intended it or not it's kind of interesting thing to think about that the main character is friends with the two people that made him. And when they look at each other as Ness walks away it's a way of giving up their control of the character and letting him either make his own mistakes or choose to get over his ex. Nice work guys!

i really liked that snow never once looked all “claws and teeth” like pj was talking about exes looking like. like, even though they broke up and she stole his heart, he still saw her as beautiful because he wasn’t over her.

I'd watch hours of documentary of the making of every single thing in that video, it was so stunning and well crafted. The world is so fleshed out that I wanna meet and know about every monster and have a tea with them. I also find myself wondering what kind of monster would I be. I have a quick theory buddy. I know you said that the only thing left for him to do was to get his heart back at the end, even though he couldn't have the girl back. However I think the only reason he was ever dating was to get a new heart and that it's a cycle. He loses a heart so he dates to get one back. That's why he ate it, so she couldn't have hers either.

Don't be embarrassed by the animatic, they're supposed to be rough! It's just supposed to be an animated storyboard. We had to do one for animations in my animation class and I spent way too long on mine lol, so I understand the need to make the drawings look "good"
