    Good work, Shroom. Just wonder if these hardbody lures are easy to catch snags? I have been using only soft plastics and now want to try something different, like minnows, vibes, surface lures etc. Thanks.

  • @ShroomFishing

    @ShroomFishing

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes, unfortunately. Hardbody lures snag more fish and that means they are in general, less snag resistant that soft plastics. There are ways to get around it by not winding it down as deep but it takes a lot of skill and self-control to do so. It's worth starting off with floating, diving hardbodies like the one in this video rather than vibes and blades which sink right to the bottom. Surface lure fishing is another good way to get into it. Technique-wise, the learning curve is steeper but you don't generally lures to snags (unless you cast into trees). I did have a video on that posted recently that you could check out kzread.info/dash/bejne/anZkltx7fbuulMo.html

    @@ShroomFishing Thanks for the advice, mate. I actually went out and tried couple of cheap diving hardbodies. I ended up catching two decent flatties in 2 hours or so. I could definitely feel the lure bounce at the bottom when I slow-rolled it, something I learned from your video. I will try surface lures next time. BTW, the good quality lures are expensive, man. I guess you have spent a fortune on them already.

  • @ShroomFishing

    @ShroomFishing

    4 жыл бұрын

    I clean it with a spray bottle using the mist setting and wipe it down. I carefully soak the braid and line roller under a running tap. Periodically, I use Inox MX5 to oil roller bearings (where recommended), bail arm joins, and the exposed handle bearing. If I have to use grease e.g, felt drag washers, sometimes gears then I use Inox mx6 with PTFE.
