I see a lot of people complaining about monkey who died. Yeah, of course it is sad but remember that Neuralink did not killed them or did not made them died intetionally. We all want human and technology to elvolve and so we need to do some sacrifice so everyone is happy at the end, testing on monkeys is part of the process and soon it will be tested on human if everything is okay. Testing product on animals is used since forever for science, medicine and even beauty/cosmetic stuffs. Some products have higher chance to work at first try, and some like Neuralink need more time to fully develop and be safe to test on humans.

@Ruben No EMP's will not work on neurolink. Its too small to be affected. Also electronic implants is really importent. If you actually read about it, you would find that brain neurons works really well with computer intergraded brain implants. The human body is shit and needs to be improved. This video is very misleading - the monkey isn't actually steering. They're moving the cursor to where it needs to go whenever they detect neural activity. The monkey isn't actually controlling where the arrow or paddle moves to - they're doing it based on detection of neurons in a certain quadrant that lit up when the monkey previously played with the joystick. This is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public into thinking that Neuralink is further progressed than they actually are.

The only thing he lost was a bit of his hair, a small portion of his skull, and the controller. This is literally revolutionary technology that can solve so many brain disorders, potentially even paralysis. There are so many people with brain disorders and paralysis that are just waiting to get their hands on this. There are so many other uses for technology like this in the real-world as well. Finer motor controls, quicker reaction timing, and the ability to communicate with others without having to talk, write, or use body language.

I saw almost the exact same experiment about 20 years ago, development of that lead to the Throw Trucks With Your Mind kick starter that never launched. Not sure what happened to it. Found the Ted Talk about this i saw about this. Ted talk was in 2012, they started the research for it 10 years prior. Strange this is in the news now like its a new discovery. Granted it is a lot faster to examine and get feedback from the BCI. Still cool either way

@@tonyh7267 back then it was a big bulky helmet with electrodes all over the head and was pretty much limited to basic cursor movement, this is a order of magnitude better, it's a tiny implantable device that is just in the beginning stages and already performs better, what the final version will be able to do will blow this away.

When you slow down the footage you can see the unplugged joystick and the movement of the dot are not really corelated... Most obvious at 1:45 when he moves the joystick down and doesn't move it for a few seconds, while the dot goes from moving down to stopping and moving to the right.

This is just awesome.
