These are all great, thanks Nick. The most interesting part to me is the "how did you get into this" questions. Would love to see more non-arena interviews, including house techs in high profile venues and festivals.

Nick, love the content and watched it all. Maybe you have answered this… does the monitor engineer have any input on mic choices/locations or is that all front of house? And do the signals all get equally split (as inputs) to FOH and Monitor and then each board does what they need to do with raw inputs?

i thought they only made speakers. i guess they do other stuff too. I was asking because it’s strange to me. that’s like Caterpillar making construction equipment AND getting jobs for crane operators.

@@johnviera3884 Yes pretty much, you just answered your own question because they source the PA and gear, and they also need engineers to go along to make sure things go off without a hitch and/or nothing gets destroyed needlessly by an inexperienced tech. Those companies often have their own guys.

Sure wish Ashton's advice was translated to local (my neck of the woods) sound engineers as some seem to be jerks and full of it!

FR. You'll find that most of these guys at the top level no ONLY are they good at their jobs, you HAVE to be chill and easy to get along with, because you're not only working with these people most of the time you live within a bus throughout the whole tour as well. There's NO place for ego, being a jerk, or taking things personally.
