The Bronze 100 isn't bad. It lacks some fullness and presence to it's midrange, due to a V-curve with an added dose of mid bass. It's not as tonaly balanced or texturaly natural as the 12.2 to me. The Audiolab 6000 fills in some of that for them, and I think it's a better match to them than the C388. While they have less metal tweeter ring than some, overall their drivers can have a slightly hard quality to me. For those who appreciate classical and other acoustic music with natural air, timbre and texture, they're not likely the best.

Confirmation bias is going on here. People are listening with their eyes, not their ears. On some songs, the two speakers sound nearly identical, and on some, the Bronze is slightly brighter and more open, and the 12.2 is slightly softer and more veiled. I don't hear the great difference in mids on most of the songs that some here allude to, although it is very evident on the xylophone type keyboard sounds on the song Higher Love, which is very forward and clear on the 12.2 and very distant and almost missing on the Bronze . However, without hearing both speakers play the whole song, we don't know if the difference is them or the arrangement and mix during different parts of the song played by each speaker. One thing I clearly hear on all the songs with an electric rhythm guitar part, is that there are intricate details of the picking of those guitar parts that are very clear and evident on the Bronze, but completely smeared together and glossed over by the 12.2. IMO, this amp imparts its own sound on every speaker, making them all sound too similar, and glossing over their differences. It's all a moot point to me, because I have no intention of buying any of the speakers or amps in these comparisons, as I'm quite satisfied with what I have. Finally, no one that can afford a $1700 amp is going to pair it with a $600 speaker

I totally agree with you, they sound very close in this comparison, which is to my surprise as the Bronze 100 always sounded brighter than the 12.2 in previous tests.

Mixed feelings about this one. I appreciate the 12.2 for being smooth and full sounding, but to my taste, sometimes too smooth. Like everything is presented more beautiful than it is. The Monitor does have that 'bite' at times, sounding more open, but also at the cost of balance and midrange. Compliment for the Monitors that they never sound harsh or sibilant.

I think the MA sound with 388 in this test is fantastic and is not comparable to Audiolab6000 . I hear more detail and space in the MA sound up to 12.2. I also think the sound is more natural while the 12.2 sound is a bit nasal, This can be heard well in the Fields track. In the end, I really liked the sound of 388.

The Bronze 100 sounds thin, forward and 2 dimensional. The 12.2 on the other hand has warmth, sounds full and complete. That huge woofer on the Bronze is not really giving it much advantage either even when there is so much power on tap from the NAD 388. The Bronze sounds lifeless and limp, the 12.2 has texture and depth. Check out the sax on 'Is Leroy On It'. Its all because of that missing mids on the Bronze 100. Even on the last song, the guitar plucks has no body on the Bronze. The plucks on 12.2 sounds so natural. One would think a bright sounding speaker would sound more detailed but the 12.2 isnt missing any details next to the Bronze 100. If anything, the Bronze needs an amp that is very mid forward and less aggresive/revealing high end to even things out. The NAD is neutral, showing the true colours of the Bronze and there is no hiding behind a neutral amp. E, could you do the 12.2 vs 12.1 with this amp? I would like to see how the 12.1 reacts to powerful and well controlled amp.

I can tell you how the 225 and 12.2 sound in every aspect because Ive owned the 225s for nearly 4 years and the 12.2 close to a year. Your claims are nowhere near reality. Its getting boring. Tell me about the Elysian, especially about the new Elysian 1. I might listen to that. I might. Oh wait, that has an annoying treble too right?

@@ctr289 all you can do is bark because you clearly do not own any of these speakers or can afford one. You said the 12.2s are bright, that chart you showed me do not in any way indicated that thry are bright, you clearly have no idea how to interpret charts. Thats an in room measurement and if anything, its the dip in the middle that should be discussed. So stop barking all over, shut up and go buy the 200 series if you like it so much.
