We in the City of Plum Grove have only been complaining about this mess for like the last 6 years or more now! Hell, we even got Wayne Dolcefino to do some investigative reports on this mess... but nobody in the general news media would listen to us, and even today the news media gives John Harris huge amounts of air-time (so he and his brother Trey can call us "a bunch of racists who just don't like brown people") when they do report on Colony Ridge but they won't even speak to us in the City of Plum Grove that's been most harmed by Colony Ridge it's like we don't matter at all! smh! *I* was messaging all the major news stations around Houston area back in 2017, and even wrote to the White House about this mess... yet you're just learning about this place now? How is that even possible when there have been so many of us from Plum Grove complaining about this mess for so many years already! 😐Search You tube for "Dolcefino Plum Grove" and for "Dolcefino Colony Ridge" for investigative reports he uploaded years ago already and all the crap going on in Liberty County that Mr. Dolcefino was uncovering.

@@lovly2cu725 I knew 6 years ago when my home built in 1970 outside of any FEMA flood plain suddenly began being flooded on a regular basis almost immediately after Colony Ridge developed their Camino Real subdivision just up the street from my home in the City of Plum Grove... then their Grand San Jacinto subdivision's giant drainage canal blew out the main road thru the City of Plum Grove and the destruction has only continued ever since to this day you cannot drive down the entire length of Plum Grove Road because there is a huge chunk of it that's no longer there! smh! I know this area better than you though. My house was down the street in City of Plum Grove within walking distance from 2 of the Colony Ridge subdivisions. I lived there since 1987 actually, bought my house there in 1994, watched it flood 4 times in barely 2 years after the Camino Real subdivision was "developed" by Colony Ridge right up the road from my driveway. Ever wondered how great it is to watch all your stuff floating around inside your house in sewage contaminated storm-water run-off? I still have nightmares about it. I literally could not gut and rebuild the house fast enough to beat the next rain! And each time my house was flooded, just days before we had been under a country burn ban due to drought.... and yet their storm-water run-off was so intense that it came right back into my house again and again and again! 😞

Colony Ridge isn't a "town" at all, it's just a bunch of commercial subdivisions with an MMD granted by the State Legislature under Earnest Bailes leadership to one of the developers (so he taxes his customer base to make even more money under that MMD apparently; the developer has full control over his MMD and the tax money it collects), in spite of the fact that an MMD is supposed to be for Municipalities such as incorporated cities (such as the City of Plum Grove, who has no such MMD). How is that even possible? Earnest Bailes has to go, please vote for Stephen Missick who will fight to correct the ills of Colony Ridge and remove their illegal MMD! Stephen Missick has a You tube channel, and he is on face book as well you can search for him by name. We need a change in Austin and it starts with giving Earnest Bailes da-boot! Just saying.

Yep. 48,000+ gallons of black raw sewage flowed thru my back yard from their Camino Real in 2019, the flow went all the way down the little Maple Branch past the city of Plum Grove city hall building and all the way to Plum Grove Rd. TCEQ documented it, collected 30 or so dead animals along the branch (mostly fish of various species), then slapped them with a tiny ~$5K fine with credits for them cleaning it all up (which they only got a percentage of the stuff, a lot of it had already soaked into the bottom and sides of the little branch imho). Last I heard, Quadvest the sewage contractor for Colony Ridge, still wasn't paying the small fine even. smh! You live a few short miles away, I lived about a 2 minute walk away from Camino Real and Monte Bello (two of the Colony Ridge subdivisions built right next to my neighborhood in Plum Grove). So why is it Jay Knight and his Commissioners Court always approve any and every thing that Colony Ridge puts before them without hesitation? The county has Rules for New Subdivision Development that Colony Ridge has been in constant violation of for over 6 years now, yet Jay Knight refuses to enforce those rules and thus Colony Ridge has been destroying everything about the little City of Plum Grove with their horrendous storm-water drainage systems that flood the city regularly these days? What did they pay Jay Knight off with??? I wonder..... 😕

My family and I are legal migrants. We were all educated, knew English and migrated to Canada from Pakistan. We believe in democracy and rule of law which is what attracted us to come. This is insanity what has been happening this past decade. There is something really nefarious going on. I think they want to create a large underclass of society just as in any third world country. Most of the jobs will have poverty wages, more crime, no upward mobility and perpetual population growth. This doesn't affect the top 10% except make them richer, which is why this is being allowed to happen.

Damn the right and wrong! 2-Governor Abbott got donation money from this Developer. So, he closed his eyes on this problem. That should tell you what kind of person Gov. Abbott is. He is not a true conservative. 3-Religious groups are located over there EVERY 2 BLOCKS to help the illegals in the name of CARING and to increase religious membership. Damn America and right and wrong. I have to check my old file on Colony Ridge investigation that I did and will post it.

Look who just woke up.

I grew up in that area and have been disappointed in those who still live there. They let this happen.

This is just 3 1/2 hours south from where I now live and to me, that's too close for comfort. I moved from South Texas to try to distance my family due to so many illegals trampling across my property and stealing anything not nailed down. No matter where you go these days, apparently, this follows you... I'm thankful I have lived most of my life already, but I fear for my grandchildren....heartbroken, actually.... :(

Our entire political and legal system is rotten to the core and needs a total redo.

Nah, the State of Texas just approved some $40 million for some DPS offices/officers to be put into Colony Ridge. The state would rather throw more money at the developers than do anything to stop or actually fix this mess here in Liberty County. And Colony Ridge is expanding I'm told, buying up large tracts of land for development in San Jacinto County and Tarkington Prairie. Pretty soon they'll be everywhere, Colony Ridge and copy cat developers will be building just this sort of thing near where YOU live and then you too will learn how amazing it is to live next to one of these things! Arghhhh! 😐But what scares me most is the power the Harris family is wielding.... who can afford to cut a state governor a check for $400-$600 thousand dollars? We can't, but the Harris family can and does! With great wealth comes great power friends! Let this be a warning to everyone.

The developers sued the City of Plum Grove back in 2015 to get all their lands out of the city limits, and the city not having the funds to fight that lawsuit capitulated and gave the developer everything he demanded and then some. It is in fact amazing to me to search Liberty County court records and see the number of times Colony Ridge has sued the little City of Plum Grove and it's mayor and council people... it's absurd in fact! Even when the city didn't approve a permit (on the recommendation of the city engineer) that Colony Ridge wanted, they just turned around and filed suit against the city to force the city to approve their permit against the advise of the city engineer! That's how Colony Ridge operates though, and how they've gotten away with so much for so very long. But notice if you search for their lawsuits, Colony Ridge has not once sued Liberty County... the county leaders approve anything and everything Colony Ridge asks them for without question! Wonder why? 😕

The City of Plum Grove is not affiliated in any way with Colony Ridge! In fact we have been fighting and complaining LOUDLY for over 6 years about this mess but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Colony Ridge sued the City of Plum Grove in 2015 and as part of a settlement (the city had no funds to fight it out in court) Colony Ridge demanded basically all of their lands be removed from the city's limits, effectively shrinking the city. Also as part of the settlement the city had to agree to a 45 year moratorium against any future city taxes being applied to those Colony Ridge properties, so as to be certain to hobble the city financially so the city wouldn't be able to do much legally in the future nor even maintain our roadways which Colony Ridge used and abused to the hilt!

@@luisvilla799 I love the chicken served at Popeyes, but it's a huge downer when they are speaking Spanish in what is a Cajun style restaurant in New Caney and Cleveland now. If I'm a customer at say El Burrito Mexican Restaurant in Cleveland or Livingston, then I have no real issue with the staff being bi-lingual and speaking Spanish in the kitchen or whatever, but in a Cajun restaurant that irks me! btw, I highly recommend dining at El Burrito in Cleveland or Livingston their food is great the places are always clean and the staff is very courteous... just saying!

I’m from Huffman and we called that back road, from FM 1960 ( by the feed store, almost New Caney) to Cleveland, and the neighborhood down there, “Plum Grove”. This was getting rolling when my parents still lived in Huffman which is ten years ago.

Come down to Hidalgo County Tx. These colonies are all over the place.

Ive seen a lot smaller developments like this and it always ends up a problem for the local community and slums .

Exactly, only it's being marketed to a specific ethnic group that has a high percentage in the country illegally and who the developer counts on to miss a payment so that they can repossess the property (with any improvements that were made on it) and then resell it at an even higher price to someone else of that same ethnic group who is likely to also miss a payment... wash, rinse and repeat. I have looked at the Liberty County CAD website many of those Colony Ridge lots have been sold and returned to Colony Ridge and sold again and returned to Colony Ridge again and sold again up to 7 times in some instances! It's insane that this is a large part of their business model! And it's the reason the DOJ is suing Colony Ridge now finally.... never mind all the flooding and engineering violations that have been going on in the Colony Ridge developments from day 1 of their "developing of their land". My biggest fear right now is that the DOJ will get a huge settlement for all those hispanic lot owners who lost their lots to foreclosure when they missed a payment (we're talking thousands of hispanics potentially), wiping out Colony Ridge's assets, and those of us who have had their sewage and storm-water run-off flowing thru out yards and into our homes even... we will be left to rot basically because hey we're "too white" I guess. Colony Ridge has caused a lot of harm to many of us who lived here for decades, but that doesn't matter I guess because we are just "a bunch of racists who don't like brown people" according to the Harris brothers (and I guess nobody cares if our lives have been ruined by Colony Ridge as such, idk). 😞

As a former flight attendant, I've traveled to many third world countries, and am VERY familiar with that smell that he describes. Well, Mexico learned from it's mistake. They allowed Americans to own land in Mexico pre-1848 and the Americans ended up out numbering the Mexicans. When the Mexicans banned slavery it started revolts. We act like the Mexicans are foreigners but they've been in the Untied States 100 years before an Anglo set foot on America. I'm and American but I refuse to ignore history. We cannot make the same mistake as what Mexico did by allowing foreigners to own land. You can Google what I've posted, it's part of our history.
