Mondeo ST220's And Moosing Noise Proof

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we prove that the Moosing noise on my Mondeo ST220 was down to the Air Idle Control Valve by fitting it to Gary's st220 and seeing it we can recreate the Moosing noise on his car. We also look at some differences between both our cars. I also fit a new stereo.

Hi Martin. For future reference, there is a very quick and cheap fix to cure the moosing. I've had my St220 for almost 8 years and in that time, i've replaced the idle control valve at least 3 times. After about every 2 years or so, back comes the moosing again. I got fed up of paying out £67 a pop for new valves, that essentially worked fine other than making the noise. I found this fix on Ford Wiki and it works fine. Moosing gone forever. You just need to get hold of a standard 15mm copper pipe, soldered end cap. And drill a 6mm hole in the centre. On the engine, there is a breather pipe, that goes from the air intake bellows, to the uim. Just behind the throttle linkage. Pull the uim end off and put the copper cap in the metal outlet from the uim. It is a perfect fit and the raised part around the outer on the copper piece, stops it from going all the way in to the uim, ie getting sucked in. Refit the pipe, start the engine, no more moosing. Total cost about £2.50.👍

Why do people leave a thumbs down??? Its a perfectly good video, that proves the moosing noise fault. Keep up the good work on the ST220 videos, ill be watching them all.

When I had my ST24, it moosed, but I put a plastic tapered domestic radiator valve cap in one of the pipes. To make it work I had to drill a small hole though the centre. I started off small then slightly enlarged it until the moosing went. I think I ended up with about a 4mm hole in the centre. That fix worked on the ST24, might be different set up on the 220

Martin. I would look at a Head Unit that looks OEM. The operating system can either be Android or Wince6. I fitted these in my girls Focus Cab, my Rover 75 and her new Audi TT MK2.. You get sat nav, usb etc and they intergrate with your steering controls nicely. Ebay or preferably Amazon...plenty of choice. Just type in 'Mondeo Mk3 Satnav head unit'. The Android units are more expensive, but the WinCe versions are plenty good enough and cheaper....say £150 to £200. They are a very simple fit.

Comma oils, I seem to remember had a thing with Ford as Comma was a stones throw from Dagenham across the water and also Ford Sheppey but Ford Germany became the new focus and Ford UK was demoted to a satellite to Cologne. I love Ford V6's, better than an eight anyday imho, back in me boy racery days my uncle gave me a much loved, used and abused RS3100 from a totalled Capri from his scrappy and I shoved that into Transit's, Cortina's then I made the big mistake of selling it to a brother of a bird I was seeing and I think he put it into a MK2 Cortina estate doing it up like a Savage and made a fortune and the bird chucked me so I came away with a double bad deal. Did you know Aston Martin's have a V12 made by shoving two of your engines together? So you could theoretically fit an Aston V12 in there and really put the frights up the missus O.o
