If you come from a culture where you have to send remittances home, manipulation by family can be a real issue. Blowing hot and cold is also a veritable sign of manipulation.

man this is a great start, and so so much more... this leads into a talk imo on boundaries. Without boundaries we often see others cross into areas they should not, even innocently.. Lord set us all free to walk in love and freedom with not malice or manipulation! As always you guys are great.. Father light them up in the Holy Spirit, Amen

This here is exactly what is going on my life right now at home. Sincerely what's going on in my life now. This is to such a point that they need to know how the Lord used me and, "What did the Lord say to that person through you? Why did you feel promoted to go speak to that person or did they initiate it or did you? Or.... "You need help, something's wrong with you.....Why can't you get your story straight?...The reality is that this is the way it should be done...Let me set this straight!... Who are you talking to?.... Did you tell the pasture anything?.... Are you sure God is using you or is it your emotions?....You're not who you say you are.... You're a lier and the word is God talks about lying, it's a sin." This goes on and on and on.... Brothers and sisters in Christ please pray for me! Thank you

With #3 and #4,. I would say these two together can also be a sign that someone was abused at some point in their life and need healing.. A person may shut down when they hear someone yell or raise their voice because their father used to beat them or they were raped etc. So I think we have to be careful how we perceive some of these things.

Kristin Williams going with the intent to harm instead of consoling or keeping yourself is manipulation: even people who don’t or even care to believe in God will tell you. This is form of torture and you’re wrong for doing: solitary confinement hurts you too.

Thank you so much in Jesus name. I almost was destroid by my family for this. The role of manipulation I was put on is that I must please and do everything according to their will but I found out that it is a sin to listen and to obey the counsel of a person that is not rooted in the word of God. I choose to forgive but I dont have to eat the same crap again.

This is a three year old video but it applies to what is happening in my life right now. A family member. Always the victim. I don't want to break off ties but that seems to be where we are heading. I pray that Jesus will help us to reconcile but I can't continue to - as you said - walk on eggshells. Its exhausting.

You did what you could and now you just have to part ways. Keep your distance and move along with your life and keep them in prayer (biblical love). That is all we can do for some people that don't want to change or see any fault in their behavior.

Good word of warning. This can happen in the natural, hence the abusive marriages, but it can also happen in a spiritual environment... I would be cautious about "confronting in love", in that it should not be done alone... we deal with spirits and a "trustworthy back-up" is in order, or else it may badly backfire.....

We live in a world controlled by Narcissistic Bullies who enjoy seeing others suffer and they love to get Flying Monkeys to join in the fun. It is so important to learn how to show no emotion when attacked so that you do not supply a Narcissist with what he wants. It is also important to document everything and even record it. So when the Natcissist pretends like this or that never happened, you can quietly pull out the evidence proving they are a liar. The key to making it work is to show no emotion because emotion makes the narc happy. Also get everything you need from God and not people. People are trained to be indifferent to pain of others. Only God truly comforts. Someone who has gone through it too or an empath can also listen and offer good advice. With all others, smile and be positive. That is the only thing that works today. Being emotional will never get any sympathy in our current world. Being needy only makes you look weak and Nietzsche has trained us to honor power.

Hmmm lots of grey areas here. Context is key. It would have been helpful if you had elaborated on that somewhat. For example, ultimatums, boundaries and consequences can look like the same thing. Another example, expressing ones desires, disappointments and hurts can easily guilt trip someone who has a guilt complex but does that make those honest expressions wrong? Human interaction is complex.

People who are wounded and hurt act in the way you are discussing. This is why church folks are unable to help the seriously hurting. Hurting people have all the traits named in this video and they usually get wounded by pastors who are trained to kick those who cry, are upset, or feel hurt. Hurt people are not Jezebel. This is what Jezebel does to others. That is a big problem right now: Jezebel creates double victims. We must learn from Naboth. Naboth was falsely accused and he probably acted in the ways you mentioned. That is how he got killed. The secret to dealing with Jezebel is to beat her at her own game. Pretend like nothing happened and show no emotion is number one thing to do with Jezebel. Tell the truth with no emotion and in matter of fact way even if you have to cry 3 hours and practice in mirror. Pray death prayers against her and followers (I like to sing Jezebel Fell off the Roof and the Dogs Ate Her), and then smile while in public pretending nothing is wrong. That is best way to act when hurt. Acting normal will just make you a double victim. Point is well taken.

Well....I guess you should steer clear of me then. I thought I was setting boundaries and calling people out for wrong doing. I have had lots of trauma in my life and I do break down easier than most people. Wow just wow. This seems way too cut and dry. I don't feel like I'm manipulating. I state a feeling. Etc. How about they feel guilty because they are? If they did something wrong, then maybe it is God's conviction. I have loved every post til this one. I agree if this is constantly yes. But sometimes or occasionally then I think may be it's something else.

What do you do if your leader has these? I have been serving under a prophet for over ten years. I have tested him many times. He is legit. He is very wise and powerful. I have had visions and dreams, serving with him. Many times after I pray he will call me and talk about my prayers to me. But, It is his way or no way. He uses some of these manipulative tools. We have kind of split ways this year. But this isn't the first time this has been an issue. I have been trying to work with him for a long time. But I can never seem to do things quite right. We have been through failed ministries together. I have recently went through a divorce. Now I just feel defeated, and a little confused.
