Momos chilli chutney recipe
A very easy red chilli chutney recipe, sepen for momos.This is a momos chutney recipe without tomato. I have used red bell pepper/capsicum. There are many other Tibetan sepen recipes which do great with many Tibetan dishes but this chutney especially goes well with momo and shabhaley / shapaley in summer.
The measurement can be easily personalized by adding more or less chillies.

Yes, there are many versions of Sepen. You have used capsicum, others use tomato. These would be modern recipes. As a child in Tibet, a friend of mine said the only vegetables he knew that grew at the altirude was Chinese cabbage, mushrooms and daikon. I use his traditional recipe with only chilli, onion, garlic and Yemma. But whatever you use it certainly spices things up.

Tibet is the size of Germany, France and Spain combined. Different parts of Tibet have different climate.Some areas of Tibet don't even have trees and some areas have banana trees. In "Modern Tibet"you can get anything you want. Food evolves according to the situation of human beings and the time in where they r living. In my father's area we had much more veg than ur fren's place back then. Many Tibetans are not aware of other regions' cuisine that's why I made this channel so my fellow Tibetans around the world can know the diversity of our culinary culture Even Western food has evolved and the food around the world has too.
