Momma Moose Gets Impatient With Baby Moose Crossing Road
Momma Moose grows a bit impatient with her baby moose crossing the road. You could tell she was ready to start counting down, and when she gets to 1, that's when things get serious.

You'd be wise to wait for such a large animal to cross the road. If you drive into something like that it's going straight into the windshield and could kill you, very dangerous at night as this is when most fatal accidents happen.

I think not driving straight into a moose is more respect for your own life not theirs.

That's hysterical. Poor baby. Thanks for being patient.
This is SO great on so many levels -- the way the mother kept checking the cars ... the way she entered the edge of the woods and then came back to encourage her young 'un ... and the way that little moosie high-stepped across the what-the-heck-is-this-stuff pavement. (If you've ever put protective boots on your dog, you'll see this same walk the first time he/she wears them). I've lost a lot of faith in our species' ability to either feel or demonstrate compassion, so seeing drivers waiting for this little passage to play out was, to say the least, heart-warming. Thanks for posting.

I agree completely with everything you said. I have rescued so many different animals/pets because of an increasing lack of care and respect that animals deserve. Given long enough you can form strong bonds with ANY animal and to me to interact and engage with another species is such a honour. It's also why i became a vegetarian after seeing how animals are treated particularly in the middle east. I understand it happens everywhere but i was exposed to some shocking displays whilst serving in Iraq Nice to know others are as compassionate

I was also glad to see the drivers being patient. I was driving through Vermont a few years ago and saw a bear cub that wasn’t as lucky as this Moose calf. 😢 This sweet calf has a great Momma to watch over him. 🫶

You don’t realize how big a moose can be till you see one in person. I was traveling on so called “ Moose Alley “ from Skowhegan.Maine to Jackman ,Maine and had the pleasure of see a group of 4 moose cross the road in front of me. They hesitated on the road for a moment, looked both ways and then wondered on. Two of them had to stand at least 11 feet at the top of there backs. Drive slow up in them there woods Please

We have a cabin by a big pond in NH which has a fenced in area for the kids swings right by the driveway. We were having a family gathering years ago in must have been August and a HUGE female strolled right up the driveway and right past the fence. Awe inspiring doesn’t begin to describe that majestic creature. 🫎

So amazing. The calf really didn't like this new thing: the look, the smell, how weird it felt under their hooves. Kudos to the motorists for being patient.
Can never forget a massive moose just standing in the middle of the road as I was approaching on a bike at a distance. I wondered why it was just standing there and not crossing completely. I then saw a baby moose coming out of the bushes. What a smart momma! It knew the road was dangerous and just stood there just daring anyone to pass!

Why would dogs wear boots?
I encountered a Mama bear with 3 cubs in the road once. Two of them followed her like Velcro. The third stopped to play in the road. She was just like this Mama Moose, until she totally lost it, went over to her cub and slapped it silly. Poor baby tumbled to the side of the road and moved along with the family. Mamas don’t play around!
It was most likely the first time the baby encountered a roadway. So, the smells, cars, and feeling of the blacktop were probably new and scary.
IN MY VIEW The sweetest part of all was watching how the baby moose 'walked' on the asphalt street. Exactly like pets wearing shoes!

Saw that with a turkey family. I don't wanna you can't make me. What made it even funnier. A lady decided to charge past all the stopped cars on the wrong side of the 2 lane road. She did pull off of the road when she saw what the problem was. When we could drive on, no one let her in. 😅

More importantly, the closer the baby got to the car the more the mom would have felt like the car was a threat. The driver was making sure the mom new that.

Awesome VIDEO and awesome people in cars being patient. 👍🏻🌷💕
So much love …… always respect nature, and all her offspring ✊👊🏼❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Huge kudos to the drivers and bystanders for not interfering or getting out of the car. Female moose with calves are one of the most dangerous animals in the world. They attack anyone they view as a threat and just being in the vicinity of a calf with the mom nearby can cause an attack. Respect them from a distance and let the moose care for themselves.
That is the cutest 🤗 The way He walked on the concrete. 😙
That's hilarious - the way he walked over the road finally 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The cuteness, of his uncoordinated lil skinny legs walking. 🥰
Many years ago I was driving along the Trans Canada in Northwestern Ontario (aka middle of nowhere) at night when my headlights outlined the shape of a full grown moose standing on shoulder next to my lane. To this day I will never forget how intimidating and somewhat scary it was driving past that monstrosity standing by roadside. I was fortunate it didn't move onto the road.
Nice video. Thanks
When momma was about to cross, she stops and looks at the car filming like… ok u need to stop so we can cross. Animals r scary intelligent.
Love the way all the carts wait for the little to cross.
The best part was everyone waiting patiently for them. Thats rare and beautiful. Imagine a world where everybody cared about animals. ❤
Too cute!!! Thanks to the good humans who didn't rush the baby. Momma was having a melt down pacing trying to get her baby across the dangerous road. Slow down and enjoy the world around you today 🇺🇸🙏🍀

Well! It was definitely worth the wait to see that little baby daintily step across the tarmac like that! Bet those drivers were smiling all the way home! ☺️

Beautiful animals, the humans here, and the moose!
My most memorable moments in British Columbia national parks were encounters with moose. I was amazed at the size of these animals and the height at the shoulder of an adult was over 6 foot. The other amazing fact I was ignorant of was their ability to hold their breath under water. I had no idea they could completely submerge for several minutes whilst eating plant tubers on the bottom of lakes. I once hiked to moose lake at sunset and was greeted by a female who had come down to feed in the lake, she trapped me on the wrong side of the lake side and blocked my route out. I took cover behind a tree and waited until almost dark before she started to completely submerge. I carefully timed her minutes under water and made the decision to risk my escape. It was wonderful and I’ll never forget the amazing experience and encounter with that majestic animal.
Precious little Baby 🙏❤️
Reminded me of the first time I took my dog to the beach......he had to be encouraged to walk on the sand ❤❤
Mama's like " I'm so sorry this is so embarrassing. He's only a day old, c'mon Junior!!!" 😂

Baby says, "But why, mom? Feels dangerous getting off the grass"!!!!
The way baby walked on the pavement was adorable 😂
"I'm not walking on that." I could watch that walk across the asphslt for hours, hilarious. You could tell mama was beside herself with all those cars. Great when humans slow down to cooperate.
