@@liryar123 The note in the song didn’t require a whistle note, so why else would she do it? She knew this was live performance with Patti that would live on forever so she had to do something in my opinion. Also you don’t know them personally so I doubt you know ‘what’s going on between them’. The comment wasn’t shade. It’s two great singers sharing a moment. It’s friendly competition.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am that this is the ONLY top comment about that moment. It was the most *meaningful* clip & I'd never seen it before. That was absolutely incredible. Nina literally could've been killed for that; she risked her life to speak the truth so boldly. That's actual bravery & she was so right. Alabama & Mississippi(among other southern states, like mine, Kentucky) are _still_ struggling racially & economically. The next time someone says to be patient with progress, this is the perfect clip & argument to provide. "Tomorrow" never comes. We have to do it *now*. My mind is pretty blown, tbh. I'm so happy I know this clip exists, now. I'm going to share it widely. Damn...

It's so sad that the younger generation doesn't know more about Nina Simone especially the way the United States treated her and that she was such a huge sensation in France because she left the United States because France was not as prejudicial as America was and still is at times. And I think the words of that song were very powerful and I think they still apply today. And someone said that they didn't like her voice obviously they haven't heard all of her music she was an amazing Superstar and had a lot of demons that she had to fight and unfortunately she lost that fight but she will hopefully be remembered for her messages in the music that she created.

I think you're a fan... Because, if I may say, she has good songs, she's a nice song writer, but she was not a good singer... I'm not an expert, but it's noticeable how bad is her singing technique, also her voice sounds ugly and annoying to me. It's like hearing any lady singing... You can like her no matter what, of course. I just don't understand why she's considered a great singer to the point of being a role model as a singer, as if she could sing as well as Etta James or Aretha Franklin...
