If these things were truly in situ, and treated so rough shod in a treasure hunt, I am saddened by the loss of archeological context, and value. That such item could tell a story and be shared with the public in a museum is lost with such removal.

Someone have to explain him about the fact than containers are a treasure itself, and the only chance to know about how did it was buried, which was the historical context, and who possibly possessed thes thing is when you firstly uncover it. All goes to the hell when predator feels the prey... Sure thing, adrenaline pumps ur blood and you rush for it, but the next time think about why archaeologists do use brushes and little spatulas for caving? For not to scratch, or damage artefacts. I can ensure you, if you go and do something like that around Spain, you go to jail with no excuses, just to prove, look about someone called Adrian who found a bunch of celtic axes, and washed one or two ow it with soap at home, my man, he felt all the toughness of the Spanish law...

Very modern looking lock on the trunk I have one just like it and the handle on the axe looks to have come off a bar stool I can't see anyone being allowed to hack into the walls of an ancient castle it looks more like an old farm building.
When I am digging up a target I use a heavy hatchet and hammer it down right where the target is. That way you stand a better chance of hitting and damaging the target like the guy on this video. Also, when the dirt around the target is damp and then the target itself is completely dry there is a slight credibility problem. Oh yeah, when you dig up anything gold out of the dirt it has a brilliant vivid gold tone to it. Not a dull brass tone that you see on the item you re-buried. I have dug gold coins and they come up looking brilliant no matter how long they are buried. as a 35 year metal detectorist I see so many problems with this video!

You're absolutly right . I've also been on the field for 30 years, but it's not as easy as it is shown here. Especially since it looks as if the ruins are an archaeological monument that was probably uncovered by archaeologists. However, these archaeologists must have been very poor because they do not seem to have had a metal detector to carry out the archaeological dig correctly. To me this all looks like it was planned buried for click bait on the channel. Who should think that's real at 31:02? I've been collecting axes from different eras for years. I've seen axes made by beginners in a school, but none looked as crappy and clumsy as these. The ax handle looks like an old chair leg, and I'm not even talking about the other junk that was in the rather modern box. And again, the detector community has one more part to add to their already bad reputation.

Well your description above did state that your video was meant to be educational. And it is, all for the wrong reasons. From a formal archaeological perspective, you have documented how NOT to conduct a site excavation. I question the authenticity of the "artifacts" you uncovered. The big wooden chest seemed too good to be true! Those so-called coins looked a little like they had been roughly cut from a sheet of thin metal...and I wouldn't put money on them being silver, platinum, titanium or anything remotely valuable. I am also curious as to the site location.
Why dig a hole that big for a couple of metal detector hits unless you already know you’re going to be pulling out a big box?
I had a hope that the find at 15 minutes was a land mine left over from the war. It would have done less damage to the rare finds than the digger was doing.
That axe head looks too flimsy to be more than a wall decoration.
this is definitely a set-up; these "artifacts" were placed by them earlier and then later "found"
This is Robbery and destruction of antiquities. 😢
Dude get a shovel, u r more likely to damage everything you dig by using a pick axe. That's crazy
Digging and excavating like that is a crime.
*To everyone liking this video and making good comments* : If this is real this is a huge mistake. All these items or treasures (whatever you want to call them), are sources of information that can be deducted from their own existence in a certain place. All of these extractions should be turelly documented and analyzed by experts and credited professionals. Their conclusions are to become what we call history. Expertise and professionalism are what took the human kind so far and (if this is real) this is a setback. We all understand the natural human sense for discovery and exploration but would you motivate your children to drive without a drivers license? Same applies here.

Very interesting video. However, the country is not named, nor is the culture, nor is the time period. You also broke a valuable pitcher which can be glued back but….. it seemed like a haphazard dig at times and like others on here- how did you know where to dig the chest and how deep and how wide?

Knowing when to use the pick and when to use the shovel is impotant when digging up reburied stuff. you knew to use the bigger shovel because you knew you buried it deeper. You are using the metal detector horribly wrong even though you are getting beeps. Unbelievable treasure finding-again..
