Having discovered him pretty early, like almost everyone at that time, my first Dimash experience was through that song. It’s impossible to find the words to express how much the song itself, combined with his interpretation, moves me. So I hope that my images can be more expressive than my words...

S.O.S was composed by 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 and lyrics were written by 𝗟𝘂𝗰 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻. It was initially presented in the rock opera ‘Starmania’ (1978) by the French singer-song writer 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲. However, the one who totally brought the song deep into the hearts of the French people was…
𝗚𝗿é𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹, a wonderful artist and a loving young man, who sadly passed away at the age of 24 due a hereditary disease, leaving the whole France totally heartbroken. Grégory, having gone through serious life struggles, had a lot in common with…
𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗻, αn incredibly talented Kazakh figure skater, Olympic bronze medalist and one of Dimash's dearest friends, who also lost his life too early (at the age of 25), after being caught in a fight with 2 robbers.
Both Grégory and Denis, despite the fact that their short path in life was far from covered with roses, they have shined as great inspiring figures.
Dimash has been performing S.O.S in numerous occasions since young age. But it was his performance in the Chinese competition 'I am a Singer 2017' that totally skyrocketed his career overnight and turned S.O.S to 'the inevitable way of discovering Dimash' for more than 2 years! Since that iconic performance, Dimash more than once chose to sing S.O.S as a tribute, not only to Grégory but also to various legends of the past, while he also dedicated this song especially to Denis in 2 of his solo concerts.

I am a HUGE music buff. Everything from Classical to Classic Rock. THIS is the most beautiful, soul touching rendition of this song. I get full body chills every time I listen. My mind can't even comprehend what my ears are hearing. His voice is otherworldly. My respect to the previous singers ( and I cry when I think about their untimely passing) but I KNOW they are smiling down on Dimash and his rendition. This song, the lyrics, the back story and most of all Dimash giving every ounce of himself and his heart - is such a gift to us all. Thank you for this compilation 🙏🥰🤯❤️

Thanks so much for sharing your feelings ❤ SOS was the song that opened the Dimash door to me. His interpretation, along with the fact that I know French and so I could understand the lyrics, made it a unique emotional experience, to say the least. When he sings it... he's like casting a spell on me...

Thank you so much! It's a rejoice to know that my creation has made this song justice! It has moved me to tears since the very first time! But as Dimash kept adding little twists and keeping it fresh and organic... and as I found out about Gregory and his story... and as Denis' story was also added on the already huge emotional load of this sublime piece... this song, performed by Dimash, now means way more than I could ever express in words!

Bonjour de la France 🇫🇷🇫🇷 Je rajouterai un complément d'information à ce joli texte, puisque vous parler de comparaison entre Dimash et Grégory Lemarchal, tous les deux se sont fait connaître par l'intermédiaire d'un concours de chansons. On connait celui DImash avec la Chine et Grégory lui à été mis en lumière sur une émission de télé-réalité spécial chanteurs qui s'appelait "La Star Academy" et qui était regardé par des millions de personnes et effectivement se qui unit nos deux chanteurs est qu'il ont été mis en lumière du jour au lendemain, connu et reconnu. Malheureusement Grégory est décédé d'une mucoviscidose et à laisser un grand vide en France. Merci pour ce joli clin d'oeil et Dimash reste le seul à pouvoir chanter aussi haut cette chanson avec sa voix magnifique. ❤️

Thank you so much Danielle for watching and for giving me extra info 🙏❤️ I'd like to clarify though, that comparing Grégory and Dimash was never my intention. I have great respect for Grégory (who I discovered through Dimash), both as an artist and as a human being and to me he was special on his own. The truth is that I am aware of all the details about him, but since my video was about moments of various interpretations of SOS by Dimash, I didn't want it to overflood it with any kind of additional information. Most people usually don't care about detailed info and they wouldn't watch till the end if I had included a longer text. So my intention was simply to justify the moments where I paid tribute to those 2 young men (Grégory & Denis) with my visuals and through that, take the chance to say a few words about each one. However, if you notice, when the back story shows Grégory and Denis, there's an icard ( ℹ️ ) that appears on the top right corner of the screen, leading to more info, for whoever is interested. In the case of Grégory I chose to link it with Gloria's Wu tribute video. You can take a look if you haven't seen it. That link can be changed any time, so if you have any suggestion about a better video commemorating Grégory I would be happy to take a look and - why not? - use this instead 😊

Malheureusement je ne peux visionner la vidéo de Gregory qui est mis en Icard....bloqué en France pour droit d'auteur... This is beyond beautiful! Goosebumps! It could be an official music video - the focus on him but the visuals are highlighting the meaning, creating an atmosphere...the rare fanvideo which can add to his performances! Congrats dear! 👍👏👏👏💙✨💙✨💙✨💙 ✨💙✨💙✨💙✨💙 My only "problem" tgat the letters are to small for my eyes on phone. I can read easily the phrases with big letters but the rest... Pls put the text in the description box!

And sorry for the font sizes, I work on a huge pc screen and being a graphic designer I'm used to take under consideration all screen formats, from smaller to monstrous! 😅 I know that they are not ideal for the mobile version, so thanks so much for the suggestion, I have put the back story in the description as well. 😍😘

(However I will not make the lyrics much bigger, because I don't want them to cover the images. After all, almost everyone is familiar with the meaning of the song, right?)

Ofc I know the lyrics and the background story & I think all dears know it - thanks to Gloria Wu and Denis aniversary posts (sooner or later after becoming a dear it is inevitable 😍), but it's a great promo video for Di, an introduction for new ppl - turning them dear! 😁😍 I watched it again, even showed it to my mother who isn't a dear....and hardly could translate the text ( I'm Hungarian, so sorry for my not proper English) bcs of I was too touched...Wonderful edition really! This is the case when the technical skills meet with artistry & good refined taste. Wouldn't you work for Di? 😍 Posters, Dimashnews's visuals, YT thumbnails, and so on... ***Oh, and I missed to mention the selwction & edition all these different performances, this is really a good showcase for Di with this iconic song ( and also shows he sang it differently, preventing the criticism that he was using lypsinc or autotune ) So everything is great professional and beautiful!

Thank you so much! Indeed, it took me tons of hours within a period of a couple of months to create this video. Endless hours of listening to Dimash's voice, while travelling through this world that I was creating... Just pure delight! The process of creating such a clip couldn't be more entertaining and uplifting! And when I finish each project of mine... that liberating feeling of having finally expressed through visuals how his voice transforms my inner world and then being able to share it with all those who CAN GET IT... it's pure gold!
