To those who keep saying she was lucky, there is no ‘what ifs’ in sport. Every athlete in any sport goes through injury and injury is apart of being a professional athlete. Sure, if Swiatek or even Kalinskaya didn’t get injured it would be even tougher for Rybakina to win but people always conveniently forget how much she has not only adapted and improved her game (especially the defensive side) to suit all surfaces and is getting better by the day, but also before Swiatek got injured Elena was getting on top of rallies and forced her way back in. If Rybakina does win the Rome title, I really hope we don’t see comments on any social forum about their being an asterisk because that is bull$hit. The winner in the final would deserve it. Plain and simple!

They don't see that Rybakina game pushes her rivals to the edge cause her power and depth, specially swiatek, she forcé her Game against her and thats why she it's more Shaky playing against her and have to spend more energy to keep pressure

Ostapenko is just a miserable person, really, on court. I've tried to appreciate her for her obvious explosive tennis ability, but that awful personality just taints everything else about her.

For "not being nasty", that's a pretty nasty comment. Ostapenko's weight gain might have to due with her diet, but also could have medical reasons. Who knows? But regardless of the reason one shouldn't body shame someone because of his or her appearance. I just cannot understand why some "fans" cannot cheer for their favorite player without putting other Players down. Pretty classless.

@@patrickrogersiegismund2785 I agree with you it s classless but my intention was not nasty.As you say i don t know she may have medical issues.For my pov she s a young tennis player who is supposed to be in top of all her attributes,now she seems to me only at 70%.In the history of tennis,she was not and is not the only one with this problem.I wish it could be fixed and anyway all the best.Another thing i wish herself shows more class on the court,it would help people to maybe have more sympathy for her.
