Noor technically means light but that should give you the gist. Used as it was in the post it means sweetness, goodness, God given gentleness, decency, Iman (faith in God). It only comes to those with perfect contentment and utter conviction to be guided by God. Sorry, bit long but I covered all the bases

The mosque should not have allowed this man to speak about politics. The mosque is for prayers, learning knowledge and this man should have booked a hall and invited people. The irony is he was calling people ignorant yet does not know the etiquette in a place of worship. Humility, purity of body, mind, soul when entering the mosque to seek Allah’s mercy and this means no insults, raising voices unless to let congregation hear the sermon.

Was he campaigning inside a mosque? Party political debating isn't an activity for inside the mosque. It's not a wrong activity in itself but there's a right place and time for it. The word "mosque" is derived from "masjid" meaning a place for "sujud" or "sajdah". Not a place for debates and worldly talk.

Woe to those who do not fear Allah and have taken the responsibility lightly.
