Mombasa 1985 archive footage
Archival footage shot by Otto Wolf, a Swiss filmmaker, while visiting Kenya in 1985.
It contains stock footage of Mombasa, a city in the southeast part of the country along the Indian Ocean: European tourists having a drink in a bar, pedestrians walking on the streets, traffic, Moi Avenue and its giant aluminium elephant tusks, the Royal Castle Hotel, and more.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Simpler days of yesteryears. I'd give anything to go back to those days..and that DC-10 taxying in at the end..sigh

"This is the time i immigrated to europe!Mombasa was clean.neat,romantic filled with incennse of "Udi sticks",perfumes,spieces etc.Today you smell the bad ,filthy odour from the sgr station at miritini! Mombasa has become dirty following the food/fruits street vendors who throw away every thing at the streets! This has not been our culture at all! Restore our pride His Exceii,Abswammad Nasir.Joho did his best,but some communities must change in terms of hygien!
