By Cartoons I think he means shows he watched as a kid. Like our generation watched like Mummies Alive, 90's Animated Spiderman, Gargoyles, Beast Wars, etc... People older than us watched He-man, and transformers and stuff. Kids a decade younger than you would not know the same cartoons you watched as a kid. Think that's the point.

Yeah exactly my bf is only 5 years older than me, so some cartoons cross over like spiderman, TMNT, pokemon, ren & stimpy, Dexter's lab, cow & chicken, pinky & the brain, the Animaniacs, Recess, The wild Thornberries etc But he doesn't know a ton of the cartoons I would watch like Ed Edd n Eddy, the Grim adventures of Billy & Mandy, Kimpossible, Samurai Jack, Courage the cowardly dog, Codename kids next door etc And yeah 10 years would mean barely any crossover of childhood cartoons at all which I agree would be weird. Ofc there are classic cartoons that cross most generational lines like Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, classic Scooby doo, etc that have been popular for many decades.
