He just showed up on my back porch one day and everytime I went out he would be there or close enough to come running over. I set up a little lean to on the porch for him to stay in until I could get a vet appointment and have him checked out before I brought him in with my other cat. That was about 6 years ago and he still constantly follows me around

Given that cat are usually naturally fairly non-vocal in general, and that they evolved to "speak" with humans and communicate with sounds they'd naturally only really make as kittens, it makes sense.

Growing up I had a cat that was a mama to everything and everyone. If a baby cried, she needed to know what was wrong that instant, if one of her kittens was not where it was supposed to be, she would not stop til it was found and never mind the litter of puppies she stole from their mama or the baby mouse...if it was a baby, it did not matter the species. All the babies belonged to her. She never lost her mama instinct.

The person I got my cats from said they had to separate the cat from its babies, because the mom kept picking them up and abandoning them in semi dangerous places. I guess not all cat moms are the best 😆

@@axemaster8331 I had once a clumsy cat mom who had her first litter, and she decided to climb on furniture and drop the kittens from there then call for them. Caught her once doing this behavior and sealed her with the kittens in one of those tents for pets so she could care for them there. She refused to. and we had to bottle feed them since she was hissing and under no desire wanted her kittens . We thought maybe the tent became an issue and we let her wander free but nope, she just didn't want them anymore, she wanted attention for herself. To this day idk what turned her like ,that aggressively wanting attention for herself and abandoning the kittens

My dog was like that, she kept calling me into her pup area because she wanted me by her side. I was trying to do some housework and check on her but she wasn't having it at all! She stayed glued to me when she was in labor, she even followed me to the bathroom and sat at my feet tightly pressed against me while I sat and peed, even though I tried to get her to stay laying down, she WANTED her mommy WITH her. I stayed right there with her on the floor So I'm a firm believer in if they are giving birth, you need to treat them like a HUMAN and BE THERE for her to comfort and help her, she's in pain and scared and knows you love her and trust's you. Sometimes when they start giving birth. they can come quickly and if she's inexperienced and carrying a lot of pups, then she may not be able to keep up with her own birthing pace and do things as fast as necessary to keep her pup's alive. This would be the same for cats, if she's very needy then she probably wants mommy THERE with her, it's important , they can literally choke to death on afterbirth if not cleaned up quickly

Newborn humans get awesome sleep too. As long has they have what newborn cats and dogs have: their momma close by and milk at the ready. Both my babies slept like 16-20hrs a day for their first month.

My parents adopted a kitten that the mama dropped off at the house. She protected her 2 babies a lot for a short while then she was like, ok Mom life has been great but I'm all done. Fend for yourself by begging here kitties.

What a good momma cat. I had a little queen that was like this with her first (and only) litter. She was so concerned with her babies. She only had three but she was the most devoted, concerned mother cat I've seen. She often took the kittens on spider hunts around the house when they were older. She'd always trill to them. Adorable to watch her. She was barely 5lbs. Petite little thing.

The efforts kittens will go to in order to satisfy their curiosity is amazing and terrifying. When I was a kid, our cat had a litter that we kept in one of the rooms via a baby gate. Within a few weeks they were climbing it to get out.

Yeah, we got a new kitten, week or 2 old, but they had ringworm and needed to stay seperated from out older cat so we installed a half door fly screen on one room so they could still look at each other. Within a day the kitten was climbing out

Beautiful to see her answer you it almost sounded like she said oh well and she looked so overwhelmed

How caring and loving mother… I love cats so so much…

I love how the mom is like "I know" to the 'she wants you in that box buddy".

My cat is a white cat & looks exactly like her but we got her spayed so no cute kittens for us. 😢

I love listening to mamá cats talking to their BBs! I care for a feral colony and work with a TNR group. The only thing I miss after everyone is spayed & neutered is not hearing the mamas talk & chirp to their little ones! ❤

Cats are such super cute mommies!❤

There's always that one adventurous baby in every litter! ❤
