Moloko - Pure Pleasure Seeker (Official HD Video)
Музыка
Official HD video for Moloko 'Pure Pleasure Seeker'.
Moloko's "Pure Pleasure Seeker" was the second single taken from their third LP "Things To Make And Do" in the year 2000.
It reached number 21 in the UK charts that year. The video parodies the 1970s UK BBC TV show Old Grey Whistle Test and features an introduction from former Radio 1 DJ 'Whispering' Bob Harris.

Lyrics:
Yeah
Gotta get me some
Gotta get me instant gratification
Gimme new kicks
Won't you show me new tricks
Without the ramifications
Give it a try, don't be shy
Well, you know you might like it
Never been too keen a timekeeper
But I'm a pure new pleasure seeker
All the way from Venus
Invading from Mars
Don't let that come between us
It's written in the stars
Save me from fading afraid
The tears of a fool on parade
Quietly turn into stone
Make me flesh and bone
Well come on
Oh, you know that you want it now
Well come on, yeah
You know that you want it and how
Stimulation in body and cell
For the good and misguided
Desperation, I'm under your spell
Misunderstood and derided
Speculation, they kiss and they tell
Misjudged and misquoted
Fell into the abyss
I must have wanted this
Another myth exploded
Take a weight off your mind
Trust the voice of experience
I tell you little white lies
Viva indifference
Stoke up the fire
I'm all you require
They won't set you alight
Come and live your desire
Come make me whole
Body and soul x8
Well come on
Oh, you know that you want it now
Well come on, yeah
You know that you want it and how
Gimme new kicks
I wanna go deeper
Never been too keen a timekeeper
Show me new tricks
You can get me on the beeper
I'm a pure new pleasure seeker
Would be a crime against passion
Not to itch that itch
Oh, don't ask how it happened
This is it
All we have ever wanted
All we will ever need
Nothing can take his place
It's written all over your face
Yeah
You know that you want it now
Come on
Oh, you know that you want it and how
Come on
Yeah you know that you want it now
Come on
Oh, you know that you want it and how
Gimme new kicks
I wanna go deeper
Never been to keen a timekeeper
Show me new tricks
You get me on the beeper
I'm a pure new pleasure seeker
Never been too keen a timekeeper...
Come make me whole
Body and soul
Come on!

She is one of the rare few that didn't need a lick of vocal processing or a bunch of studio takes, every performance sounds just like the album
Jools Holland said baritone sax was the sexiest sound in rock 'n' roll. He wasn't wrong. Also, who doesn't adore Roisin?
She’s dynamite! And the band are so strong. Brilliant.
Whispering Bob. Who back in the day secretly had this on in the bedroom late at night with school the next morning? Iconic television.
Roisin has charisma like no other! (And of course a superb voice).
An absolutely unstoppable juggernaut of a track. It's like being stream rolled by a silk wrapped concrete block. A totally irresistible earworm.
Jezes - this is 2O YEARS OLDS DAMN!!!!!

Bob Harris legend. Another underrated group. Far better than today's music. Look they play instruments rather shouting into mikes and boasting about their items. God I feel so old.
The dance version of this is absolutely bangin
I’m totally obsessed with this song so many years after it was released 🙂
Nice intro from Bob Harris there 😂 I think it’s a Brilliant Song

What a performance. What a great guy on the sax! Cool as F!
Performance Queen!
Bob Harris's rant at the beginning was aimed at Roxy Music. Neat dubbing
Just shazzam this track from advert, had no idea it was Moloko 😍 sing it back and time is now great tunes!!!
OMG how hot is Roisin Murphy? Those eyes and that voice!! Love this track
I listen to this song and watch the video at least once a month. Puts me on another level. I love them so much for it. My favourite song and video by them for sure.
So funky and fused with a hint of glam and early disco.....roisons vocal performance is exceptionally soulful ...love the costume ..a real throwback to the 70's DISCO EXPLOSION,brings back memories of Ami Stewart ,Anita ward and Rose Royce and so many other artists of that groundbreaking era!!!

The bit at the start with whispering Bob Harris is taken from his introduction to Do the strand by Roxy Music on the OGWT 1973. Love this!

Louise X It’s a parody of Roxy Music’s appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test. Bob Harris had a very low opinion of Roxy Music, hence his speech at the beginning.

Jazz. Nice.
I freely admit to watching this from start to finish ONCE without actually realising this is the most gorgeous piss take of The Old Grey Whistle Test, Roxy Music and whispering Bob! With any other band it would have been too obvious but Moloko usually push the bounderies of sane so its a little difficult to tell sometimes.

I agree. The costumes and that guy at the beginning is straight out of the 70"s! The production value of most of their videos is subpar and probably why they weren't bigger. But the music is awesome and she puts everything into it.

@@vincentvangogodancer Man I just fell straight into that rabbithole. Finished ordering all of their studio Albums at once. They sound fresh and groovy while at the same time having a bit of that early 90s Trip Hop Sound like Morcheeba and Portishead, guess that's why I love it. Definetly a good find.

Timeless...
Watching dancing Roisin is always pure pleasure.
Roisin and Moloko make me smile so much
Adored this, before I saw them I had convinced myself this was an African- American singer 😆 🤣
Stage Costumes are epic!

her voice is made of pure gold, i love her!
Style and performance is superb. Her voice is gentle but alluring.Nice
I have spent the last 6 hours trying to remember the name of the product sold in the advert, trying those "find song by lyrics" websites, Googling "00s saxophone sampled pop track" and variations of, and getting nowhere. She has such a unique voice, and I knew it wasn't a one hit wonder, that she had done other stuff, but I just couldn't place her. Then the advert just came on...and here we are. Moloko...great band, by the way. Roisin has such a sexy attitude and the bad hair and dodgy clothes of this "period" throwback video was spot on in encapsulating their groovy funk undercurrent.

watching this good dirty frankenstein funk in 2019 God I still love their stuff
Sentimental sigh, all those interesting indie bands of the 90s. Makes me crack a 😄 people discovering this song through a mattress ad. Dig deep my friends there's plenty more treasures to be found 😁 and don't forget the 80s ( Talk Talk, The Wonder Stuff). Heck, ads are even using Library Music ( Keith Mansfield - Funky Fanfare) and films 60s Easy Listening ( Summer Wine in Stocker). Open your ears everyone to the good ol' oldies - such interesting musical gems out there!! 😆 P.S Don't forget original film title music from the 60s & 70s eg Roy Budd - Get Carter. Happy listening!

There's _so much_ goodness to savor that finding it all can be daunting for many without a little reminder. I'm in the states, so I don't even know the commercial, but I always rejoice when a series or advert turns people on to the artists I've loved.
