Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway - White Rabbit (Live)
Музыка
Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway perform Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit." You can hear it at mollytuttle.lnk.to/whiterabbit
Molly Tuttle - Guitar, Vocals
Shelby Means - Bass, Harmonies
Kyle Tuttle - Banjo
Bronwyn Keith-Hynes - Fiddle
Dominick Leslie - Mandolin
Filmed by Jay Strausser at Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, FL
Molly says: "I have loved the story of Alice in Wonderland since I read the book as a kid and played the Queen of Hearts in my school play. I chose to cover ‘White Rabbit’ back in the fall of 2020 for a live stream of songs by San Francisco Bay Area artists. Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane is from Palo Alto, CA, just like me, and this song gives me the nostalgic feeling of growing up, but recording it also pushed my band forward into new territory musically. This is the first song I have arranged, produced and recorded from the ground up with the band members that I've been on the road with all year. Golden Highway-aka Shelby Means, Dominick Leslie, Kyle Tuttle, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes-and I have formed a strong musical bond after playing almost 100 shows together this year. Each band member brought ideas to the table, making this a truly collaborative effort."

I just saw them a few days ago at a relatively small venue in Columbus, Ohio called Skully's music diner. While I watched them play, I kept wondering why they weren't in larger venues. It just dawned on me I should thank goodness they aren't. I got to see an incredible, hard driving bluegrass band perform world-class music about ten feet from me. PLEASE DON'T STOP PLAYING THE SMALLER VENUES!!! I love a big arena or festival spectacle, but this is the way live music is really meant to be seen. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.

@@markboehme Check out the Elephant Revival cover of this tune.. I prefer it over this version.. This song is supposed to leave you wanting more.. This version doesn't do that.. It shouldn't have the mandolin and banjo solos.. The violin solo was the only part of this song that I actually enjoyed.. The Elephant Revival version is short and sweet like it's supposed to be and the overdriven distorted banjo sound is amazing.. It sounds better playing the lead guitar part than a guitar does.. Their cover of Pink Floyd's Have a Cigar is also the best cover of that song I've ever heard for the same reason.. That overdriven distorted banjo sound sounds better than the guitar on the original recording.. I'd love to hear that banjo players take on some Clapton, SRV, or Hendrix..

That’s not new, the psychedelic movement took a lot of their songs from southern blues and bluegrass.
