My father was killed in a plane crash when I was six. I totally understand. Unless you’ve gone through something like that, you can’t imagine how devastating and how lonely you feel. And I was so scared the whole rest of the time I was growing up that something would happen to my mom and I’d be an orphan. I’m 76 years old now, I had a good rest of my life, but there’s just some part of it that you never get over.

That’s so true. Hubby was 5, when his father, tired over a Thanksgiving day, pulled out in front of a driver, killing his 24 yr old wife and unborn third child, injuring the two year old girl and five year old son. Hubby claims it’s the only memory of his mom, blood all over her face and not responding to his calls of ‘Mommy, mommy?’ It marked the rest of his life, right up to when his dad died after retiring. My husband felt guilt over the relief of the fear of his father leaving him, when he finally did. Life is so damn hard.

Molly Shannon has always been a figure I looked up to. Being the goofy, weird girl I connected to her and her characters SO much. I had no idea she lost family in a car accident. My sister was tragically taken in a car accident 7 years ago. Her death has had such a profound affect on my life not only with grief, but self discovery. Upon losing her I lost everything I thought I knew and needed and found everything I've need to be and found the rive to strive to always be better and good. To look out for myself and for others. To draw from other's knowledge and to stand in my power and my truth. Drew, you may not read this, but damn your show, your impact and your legacy sets you apart from so many but connects you to SO many more!! THANK YOU xoxo

Molly Shannon is a National Treasure. Her character, Mary Catherine Gallagher and the ⭐️Super Star ⭐️ movie are two of my all time favorites. My kids and I (my 5 children and 3 neighborhood children- who were at our house even when my kids weren’t) did a pose from that movie for our Christmas cards. As Drew said, sayings from that movie are said around my home, and the homes of my now independent adult children’s to this day! ❤️Love you❤️ Molly‼️

Whoa! I never knew that Molly lost her mom and younger sister at a young age! I’m one of three girls as well, and I don’t think I could ever imagine losing one of them so early in life! And not mention one of them is also named Mollie, just with a different spelling of course!

Molly Shannon was also in Serendipity. It’s sad 😢 that she lost her mom, baby sister and cousin like 👍 that. That tragedy 🎭 definitely shaped her.
