Molly's 1980 Ironhead Sportster - Rooster
Ойын-сауық
Molly, who is usually burning up the road on her 2021 Billiard Teal Road Glide, wanted to add an antique motorcycle to her garage. She ended up getting a great deal on a sweet 1980 custom Ironhead Sportster that she named Rooster. “I had a 1966 Mustang for a really long time, it was my very first car and I sold it during COVID. That’s what I really learned to work on engines with and I missed it, so I decided we’d go the bike route for an antique this go round” Molly said. The bike had been rebuilt by the previous owner and had a killer custom paint job already on it. But it’s an Ironhead, so she’s had some roadside fun, fulfilling her goal to have something to work on. “When I bought it, it was not running so that was the first thing getting it back in working condition. Changing out all the fluids, setting points that kind of thing. We made our biggest trip so far to the Smokeout rally in Salisbury and ended up on the side of 85. I’ve had quite a few electrical incidents and this go round it was just something easy, the ignition coil wiring came loose from the emission coil. So we lost all power to the bike and I had to pull over and break out the tools, which I now carry religiously on this bike, and just put it back on and kept rolling. We’ve got most of it sorted out and I’m looking forward to some longer runs in the future.” Molly Added. Even though Rooster missed the podium at the Smokeout, it has earned top marks at Camel City Bikefest & The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine 25th Anniversary Bike Night. If you see her out and about, make sure you ask her about her valve stem caps.

Hi Molly, you got yourself a great looking old school chopper. The paint and the stance are right on. I really love the pipes and fishtails and it sounds fabulous. When you get it all lined out you're going to have a sweet ride. It looks and sounds really good.
Hey Molly, My first Harley was an 84 Ironhead Beat it like a drum and it never let me down.
Not sure what is more gorgeous, you or the bike!! ❤

Killer chop ms. Molly congratulations. I had an 80 xl back in the 3:14 early.80:s . Alot of the old school bikers back then frowned on Harley's smaller.bikes giving me a.hard time and i foolishly sold it . Regret that . Anyways have fun , be safe stay sober when. You ride , lots to be said about that , don't tear up that beautiful skin ... .Oh yeah ,.love the up sweeps had em on My old shovel for20 years. Holy Molly!
Love the paint, very nice. Bought a '80 XLH back in '88. Still have it. It's all stock. The way these ironheads are becoming so popular makes me really want to get it back on the road. Got a '77 FXE that I'm working on now so it's kinda on hold. Again, nice ride
I'm jealous that winner stem valve is bigger than me 😂 cool bike ! love it !
I just found your channel, which of course I subscribed to ... I've just started a '77 Ironhead project. As soon as I get my bender die I'll start bending the frame.
It’s so awesome to see young folks taking interest in old school choppers! Too many idiots sitting in their parent’s basement playing video games. You rock Miss Molly! ❤️👍👍

Hi 👋, Molly , I am new to your channel, ❤😂it , and the bike to , from the Moulin Rouge, France, ride safe, always wear protection, 😂,
G'day Molly, you should at least one and preferably two top engine mount's and that coil bracket looks like it is designed to fracture. I've owned a ridged ironhead for fourty three years and vibration is a killer on those bikes
Go get em Molly!
Awesome looking Scoot! Enjoy!!! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
You can put the old tire valve cap back on now.
Do you know the guy out of Minneapolis that worked on the motor? I need some work done on my iron head
