    You can grind a bunch at once and freeze them to use later. Grinding your own mince is to ensure the quality of the meat. Most pre-ground meat are just the gristle and low quality parts that can't be sold.

    @@georgiegan Ground meat are often made from meat scraps but that doesn't mean it's low quality. It is actually a great way of minimizing food waste and also being respectful of the animal by using all parts of it. If the animal lived a happy life and the meat is ground with enough fat percentage, then you can probably guarantee that the ground meat is of high quality and tastes great.

    @@georgiegan I've found good quality pre-ground meats. I will make up my own sausage patties (not the morning of, for sure!) But in such cases for breakfast, I'll cook a patty, fry an egg or two, and toss in the skillet some spinach or other quick cooking veggie, and eat that. Usually without bread since I am no fan of buns, but on decadent days I'll toast up an English muffin and use butter. Definitely NOT on mornings where I have to run somewhere, though!

    It is not even a press. It is basically a pour over filter that you put on the cup. Hot water and wait... Espresso by the way. I use expresso when I try to make fun of wannabe Italians ;)

    Made a variation on this AM. Didn't do the macerated onions, but did do the grilled onions. Didn't love them with a pork sausage, but always a win on beef burgers. Total time about 10 minutes. Would make again!
