I grew up in the Nyayo era and those were good times...I even had the privilege of shaking his hand as a primary school kid in Nairobi way back in the early 90's when school kids would leave classes temporarily and congregate at the roadside to wave him by...the opportunity came one day when his convoy made an impromptu stop at Jogoo road and he got out and started a greeting session..I was at the right place at the right time and shook his hand..it was a big deal those days as coming near him was next to impossible due to his heavy security presence.....may he R.I.P.

Born in 1989 . I grew up in the early 90s knowing MOI as a Title than a person. So when I saw the then U.S president Bill Clinton on TV , I called him , ' The Moi of America ' . Those were the days of one channel era (KBC ) in most parts of the Country, so most of us grew knowing only Moi

And to think this man led us for twenty four years!
