Mogao Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Dunhuang
From Jiayuguan, Max and I skated to the train station to go straight to Dunhuang, a frontier town at the western end of the Hexi Corridor. From this area, facing west, the Silk Road split into the Northern and Southern Silk Roads. Back in the day, Dunhuang can be considered the western most part of the Silk Road that was occupied by the Chinese. (It was also frequently conquered and occupied by other groups.) This is also the final stop of our road trip, but there are many landmarks in and around Dunhuang so our adventure continues for another few days. The first landmark that we visit is the Mogao Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We rode the shuttle bus in and came out using the Backfire Ranger X1 electric skateboards. The term that young people use nowadays for "piàoliàng nǔrén" is "xiǎojiějiě" (小姐姐). 😁
the photos were amazing! you gotta work with what you have ;)
Very nice
This was unexpected, but a pleasant surprise.
Dream !!!
So ... GOOD.
Mortal Kombat Deception brought me here they used this in the stage in the game
Super expensive, too. But it tastes so good.
damn. skateboarding dream
that looks like an amazing trip! how long does your batteries on your skateboards last?
Would you fully recommend the ranger x1? I've been eyeing them for awhile and would love to get my hands on one. How do you keep it safe if you were ever to leave it somewhere?

Can’t say that I fully recommend any product since everyone’s circumstances are different. As for keeping it safe when out, that is a bit of a challenge. If a venue has a front desk, it normally goes there.
Hey mate, would be awesome if you spoke about how the board is handling the surfaces you ride on. It's great to see it in action but some feedback would compliment it well I reckon. Great Ep !

I know most viewers watch this series because of the board but I'd like this series to be more about the trip and less like a product review. I hope the footage can demonstrate how the board performs on different terrain. :)

@@DanielKwan Yeah man I respect where you're coming from. I'd just like to hear your observations of the ride quality, that's all. Footage definitely tells a story regarding performance though, that's for sure.
Nice ride out of Moral caves. How long did it take to ride out? Seems as though many Chinese you come across are surprised to see an electric skateboard yet it's Chinese boards that are pioneering and dominating the market if you think about it.

I don't remember how long but I guess around 30 minutes (13 km at 30-35 km/h, maybe stopped once for a break). My math is bad.
I think your putting Backfire electric skateboards on the map! Beautiful footage! How much on average do your backpacks weigh do you think? When you come back to your job in the states do you think you will still e board like Casey Neistat?

When carrying everything, my backpack was 4.75 kg, and my suitcase was 16.5 kg. Max's backpack was 7.75 kg, and his other bag was 10.75 kg. So about 21-22 kg for each of us. But in Dunhuang we left most of our stuff in the hotel while we went out. Our trip ended at the end of September and we're back in Shanghai already. Yes I still eskate. :)
Fuck imagine cycling on those roads
That picture
If max was to cough like that now a day in public it would of been bad lol
I wonder how many Americans you saw. If any. I would really like to do this trip, If I knew the language. It's so... out there.

I don’t think I saw any non-Chinese on this trip actually. Getting around might be a bit challenging (like finding the right bus to the next town) but if your schedule is flexible, it could be a fun challenge. 😄 I know there are tours with foreigners for Dunhuang though (our final stop).
