This mark is underrated. There is massive hang time. He didn't just jump into the ball like so many that get rated above, he jumped and hung there till the ball arrived. Very very few achieve the timing and skill necessary to hang there. 👌

It's a shame that the younger generation never really got a chance to see how great of a player Modra was.

From what I've heard, it was mostly because he didn't enjoy being essentially the most famous footballer in South Australia. He was a little on the shy side and wanted a lower profile, hence the trade to Freo. He retired a couple of years later due to knee soreness.

He had a major personality clash with Malcolm Blight.....there wasnt room for two egos that size in Adelaide.

Modra don't forget he was good high jumper in athletic and that shows I know a lot of people says it over rated that's not true he kept high in the air at least 2and half metres and had Glen Archer wrapped around him and got a hit to the head as Glen Archer tried to spoil and it was mark of the year 1993 no one's saying it's the best mark ever only so everybody that's saying it's over rated it's not it's a great mark for that year not every year get over it love Anthony Fed ex lol

How young does Glen Archer look?.

The funny thing is that it's only his second-best mark.

He left the crows because he was out of form, missed both grand finals and in 1999 went to play for fremantle and it didn't work out, he was still decent but retired after 2 or 3 seasons

Was that glen archer at the end??!!??

Why did he retire so early? And why did he leave Adelaide? He was sensational. I think he missed both the Crows premierships, but he should have stayed. I find his story strange... riches to rags, not over time but instantly - it's not like he had issues like drugs or larrikin behaviour (not to name any recent examples!). Any insight?

The other one he took later on was better. And the one from 2000 when he played for Freo.

Just thought id come back after ur 8 year old post to remind you this was mark of the YEAR.. meaning the best for that YEAR. No doubt he has done better in his career, but for that single year alone 1993... this was the best mark in the afl. Lol
