    Hi dude..good vid. Just as a case in point...you can reverse the process should you decide to go back to as new....... The case and movement can be cleaned using lighter fuel.... obviously soak and rince case with fuel then just dish soap and water....and with the movement simply immerse in lighter fuel.. flip flop it around... Pour more over the movement..then repeat using clean fuel....leave to air dry which will happen fairly quickly and you are then totally oil free👍 This is from a lot of experience....in my early stages of hydro modding I went through quite a few watches and found that not all quartz movements are not made equal..and so some of the hands stop moving due to them being friction fit..... Oil and friction are not buddies!! Ps...Zipo I found to be the best....hope this helps guys.

    Maybe if you use dielectric fluid used for computer immersion. When they immerse servers and bitcoin miners in that fluid, they stay immersed for the life of the equipment. The fans stay in place as far as I'm aware and I havent heard any issues about wear on the fans.

  • @byteme9718

    You make this far more difficult that it needs to be. Keeping a single air bubble adds to the effect but getting one the correct size can be difficult. Eliminating all air above the dial however is simple and there's no need to immerse the watch to do this. Just set the watch on a paper towel, add oil with the syringe and drop the dial down. Check for bubbles and expel any by tipping the watch and pressing on the rear of the dial face to force then out. You'll see this happening as the face flexes. Put in the crown and battery, top of with oil and fit the spacer. Top up again, squirt some oil on the case back and then lay it down before tightening the screws. On cheaper Casio watches I just lift the face and use a syringe to add the oil without removing the battery of crown. I have a number of different colour Duros and whenever I do this always change the crystal to sapphire so have to remove the movement and dial but I bet you can still do this. From experience, whenever I've got the bubble I like on the front too small, it can vanish as it gets between the dial and case. Large bubbles at the rear however, never seem to get to the front.

    you should do this on a watch with a very domed crystal like the timex Q or marlin or a quartz black classic orient that has a domed crystal or a swatch red grin... maybe there are some budget friendly domed watches on aliexpress that have a black dial just to see the dial float on that curved dome..

It was going to cost me a bomb to import a small quantity from the States and all I could get locally was ordinary silicon oil that was about five times heavier than MicroLubrol. After some searching I found a place that had it in all sorts of viscosities. I got the second thinnest. They apparently do a 0.65 cSt too but I thought that might be a bit much. And as it is a litre cost me $88. I didn't bother asking about Fluorinert. That has to be more expensive. Anyway, nice video, thank you. I'm picking up all sorts of tips. Keep up the good work.

    Just wonder after the watch is filled, would adjusting the watch push air into the watch casing, and potentially create an air bubble?

  • @watchncarry9593

    @watchncarry9593

    2 жыл бұрын

    Good question. If youre referring to the pulling out the crown to adjust the date/time, no, this will not introduce air into the watch case. There is a small o-ring in the stem of the crown that prevents this. If you do this mod, it's sometimes possible to develop a very small air bubble (like the size of a pen tip or pencil eraser). This air bubble may not show itself initially when you complete the mod, but then suddenly appears when the watch has been sitting unworn for several days (this is because the oil is uaully warmer when youre completing the mod since it's being exposed to room temperatures and being manipulated around by you). When this happena, id recommend just wearing the watch for a few hours. Your wrist body heat will warm up the watch case, which in turn warms up the oil, and causes that air bubble to disappear. The air bubble will reappear though once the watch is left unused, and the oil temp returns to a lower temperature.

  • @alduswong

    Yes, as mentioned in the video. Possibly sooner than 2 years due to increased fluid resistance and thus more battery demand. Probably easier the second time around though since you wont have to remove the watch face. Just pop off caseback, replace battery, and fill back of watch module with more silicone oil, then rescrew caseback Not the kind of mod for someone who doesnt want the hassle
