We are a perpetual nuisance, asking for money and aid all the time. USA has taken India in its block to counter China's weight and also due to the fact that India is now the world's 4th largest economy, the world's most populous country with English speaking and highly educated professionals, which makes it in US's economic interest to have deep ties with India. Our PM on the other hand is pleading his case in Paris to IMF's president for a mere 1 billion dollar bailout!

@@bharatkapoor4062it depends on the time. Back in 80s both india and Pakistan were heavily dependent on foreign aids and US was the master for the both. If india shared the border with Afghanistan then US would’ve asked india to participate and india would’ve never been able to refuse. Remember even your iits were established with US aid. Without any US pressure you participated in 1971 war because you didn’t want a flux of refugees to enter you country ( u didn’t do it on humanitarian grounds), so imagine if US would’ve asked to participate solely by being your master back then. So get off your high horse. Just because US invited your PM doesn’t mean anything. It’s all to counter China, nothing else.

Feel proud as an Indian and our PM Narendra Modi. Due to the false propaganda of “some people” the world thinks we're being marginalized in India. From being a tea seller and taking a picture outside the white house as a common man to addressing the US Congress twice!! From India being the 10th largest economy in 2014 (when he took over as the PM) to being the 5th and now targetting being the 3rd largest in the word soon!! What a great journey to witness!! India is being respected not because of Modi or any one person. It is the secular foundation that cements India as a monument of stability in the region. Pakistan is held back not because of its military or politicians but by its people. The average Pakistani doesn't seem to be ready to accept a system that is based on secular democratic principles. Until that happens it will stay backwards.

To be clear, the America-India relationship and trade deals are completely pointed at China and to counter it's growing influence. Pakistan is nowhere in the equation except for that its a nuisance to India. So statements like 'America is punishing Pakistan' or 'America is giving a stern signal to Pakistan' do not really make sense. Pakistan's government only way out is to transfer the power from it's Army to democratically elected government, focus on it's economy, reduce dependence on foreign money(specially China/ US) and establish control over Pak army/ ISI and the various terrorist outfits it harbours and supports. It will surely emerge in a much better place than it is now, if done correctly. ✌️

Another important deal that could be signed is 'Artemis Accords'. Quite critical for the space race.

India still has a lot of way to go . The first milestone is hitting $5 trillion within next 3 years and $10 trillion by the end of this decade.

You missed the Artemis space agreement between NASA and Isro. One of the most important one in my eye.

Sir, I think USA needs India to counter the Chinese influence in ASIA. The reception and feting was top class no doubt. What Junaid bhai did not mention are the deals that benefit the US. The recent Air India deal of up to 290 wide bodied Boeings alone, and this according to President Biden will create a million jobs in the US. Indeed, the US must be regreting missing out on the other deal just signed between the India's IndiGo for a historic 500 narrow bodied aircraft with France's Airbus. So, the reception was also for a huge customer. As for the deals favoring India, the GE-HAL jet engine deal will be a big one considering there is provision for sharing 80% of the technology. But for the time being its simply an assembly plant deal. The Micron plant is a small one actually, of $800 million as some additional $1.5 of which will come from the Indian govt, in pursuit of Modi's ambitious plans to be a chip hub. In other words, the Micron deal takes advantage of extremely generous Indian semi conductor plans. No telling what the future deals will be, but thus far, it is the US hugely benefitting from a customer with deep pockets on a buying spree. Of course, the soft power gains to India, from this visit are immense.
