Communities across the US are increasingly focused on developing resilience strategies fueled by geospatial data. Federal and state investments are enabling access to modern geospatial data solutions, increasing the accessibility of up-to-date land use land cover data, which has become an ever-growing necessity due to the rapidly changing physical world. To address this need and respond to an executive order from the Governor of North Carolina, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and the South Carolina Office of Resilience have prioritized the development of a 20-class high-resolution land cover map to enhance various resilience and conservation efforts.
Join geospatial leaders from the State of North Carolina, State of South Carolina, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and Ecopia AI as they discuss how NOAA’s newly updated Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) data is being expanded in unprecedented resolution and scale thanks to AI-based mapping techniques. They’ll discuss why an up-to-date, high-resolution land use dataset is needed and how it will be used by various state agencies, as well as best practices for keeping such critical data up-to-date and securing funding for similar projects.
