When I played this mission I was honestly surprised how tough the solider in the house was. I get that your playing as a kid, but even so, that guy would just not go down! He fought the father, and was completely unfazed by that fight, as if nothing happened. Then got stabbed like half a dozen times, and still was able to throw these kids around! That dude must be an oddball, because around that time, most Russian soldiers were poorly trained conscripts. Funnily enough, afterwards I heard some of the other soldiers talking about how that guy was as big as a truck 😆

Imagine a mission similar to this in Vanguard where you play as a Jewish kid trying to hide from the Nazis

This is EXACTLY how Modern Warfare 2019 greatly distinguishes itself from all the other COD games. The use of both darker tone and more realistic atmosphere is one of the many reasons why this video game received a lot of general praises and positive reviews.

Im from the middle east and im not gonna lie this mission hit me way too hard like ive never in my life shed a tear from a game, this one had me crying and punching air

Well this aged well

When I played this mission, I didn't think much of it because I was pretty unwell, but now that I watch it again, I just realised what I played. The fact you see both of your parents die at 6 or 7, you kill a soldier brutally, you shoot a fucking revolver at 2 soldiers and then you get captured and seperated from your brother. Insane shit man!

This kinda stuff happens in real life and most of these happen to thousands of kids and all of them get traumatized

One of the most incredible, detailed and immersive missions in a Call of Duty game so far. Brutal and grounded just as they should be.

There was a something about when the bring the saw. It’s like there saying “we don’t care what we have to cut, burn, or crumble. We’re getting you out”

Every thing about this is pretty accurate besides the whole demonizing of the Russians Edit: at the time of writing the original comment I was not aware the game took place during the Soviet occupation, I thought it was a fictional setting after 2000's

As brutal as this is, seeing a big guy armed with a rifle get taken down by a little girl with scissors doesn’t exactly scream realistic

They out did themselves with this Cod, it's actually scary, during the mission where you are in London if you look closely near the center there's a guy on his knees begging for his life, and the terrorist walks up and shoots him point plank, kinda fucked up but an amazing detail.

Great mission, but so fucking sad. Great depiction of what’s going on in the real world

Im glad they didn't hold back in this game.

That Russian that kills farahs father wearing the gas mask is the operator Minotaur. Same shirt and tattoo.

In my opinion, this is more disturbing. We are probably used with using guns in video games, that's why killing innocent civilians are just as normal as in a GTA game. No Russian lets you experience the shooter, Hometown lets you experience the victim.

This mission is arguably more disturbing than the no Russian mission

Cod used to be about a simulation about warfare and that it’s not just a game, it brings a sense of dread since this would actually happen irl, this part of the game makes you realize this is the harsh reality we live in (but it is inside a game title) , the campaign had realism sprinkled with realistic and that’s what gave cod an iconic title, the multiplayer added a sense of being a Russian, or American, or any other faction team against the enemies. Now it’s full of micro transactions, Collaborations with shows and celebrities, guns that have no right in being ingame, grinding hours and hours just to get a good chance to actually play and being full of kids. Cod was the best game ever, now it will never be the same.

I only just finished this, and that russian deserved what happened to him.
