Modern Image O gauge exhibition - Crewe Heritage Centre - MIOG23 - Saturday 25th March 2023

Ойын-сауық

Crewe Heritage Centre once again hosted MIOG Facebook groups 2023 exhibition of all things modern in 7mm scale. 3 full size guests were on show outside, along with other residents. I made the day trip again this year, after an enjoyable show last year. A good range of traders were also present, encouraging us to part with our hard earned cash.
Layouts on show, were as follows:
Allerby : A huge U shaped layout featuring a number of sorting sidings for freight, a loco servicing point, as well as main lines that ran through the scene.
Grangemouth : a fine rendition of this central Scotland diesel depot. A huge number of different locos, most featuring dcc sound, are seen on depot, arriving and departing. I lost count of the number of 37's on show.
Cripple Corner : a small shunting layout, where the resident "gronks" shuffle about with wagons requiring attention. The great scenic modelling is backed up by very well detailed and weathered rolling stock.
Peasevern Yard : The Avonside goods branch, in the shadows of Temple Meads station, is the inspiration for this small shunting layout. Set in the 1970', the model features a scrap yard scene - and this isnt your normal model of a scrap yard - the dismemberment of some of the old cars is brilliant and takes this layout, a cut above the rest.
Tremorfa Steel Works : the layout follows on from the owners previous scrap yard layout, seen last year. As the name suggests, this layout features a part of the South Wales steelworks. Various shunting locos fussabout with various types of steel wagons, as well as the odd mainline loco making an appearance - we are treated to Mirrlees engined 37901 shuttling about the layout.
Buxfield - a through station which sees many DRS operated freight trains, as well as a Regional Railways passenger services.
Cwm Rhiw : a terminal station, located in Wales. Unfortunately, on the 2 occasions I visited the layout, there wasnt a lot going on, so there is very little to see. The layout did provide a nice stage for one of the new Wickham trollies, from Ellis Clark Trains - very pretty.
I hope you enjoy this film. Please feel free to comment, share and like. Missed last years show? Have a look at my model mayhem playlist and find the video! If you dont already, please subscribe to the channel, so you will have all my new material put right in front of you, when they are uploaded.
best wishes
Iain

Thanks for taking us along with you. Some cracking layouts. Good to see Bucksfield again, does Mr Agnew still own it - it was going to be extended at one stage. It's a long lived layout✌️👍😊

@@ba14eagle Thank you, yes it was great weekend and for it's first time out the layout ran well. Just need to experiment with the couplings to make it easier to couple/uncouple.
