Thank you for this message. I have a better understanding of what idolatry means. I am really struggling with resentment and I'm relying on people too much. Please forgive me Lord. Amen 🙏
Thank you for making this amazing Bible Study series! We are using it in our tiny home church of 2 people (husband and wife church) because of lack of access to fellowship! One other idol that can be missed by Christians is "technology." It actually comes from Ancient Greek, where "techne" means the knowledge/skill that the early Greeks so marvelled at, which was displayed by their imaginings and physical experiences of "automatos" (self-motion). And the first use of the word was a divine and supernatural sense by Homer in the Iliad, describing the self-opening of the house of the gods (Olympus) by the spirits of the horai, but later the word "automatos" was exchanged for the actual physical objects and inventions made by the Greeks, leading to what we call automation today. (From Tatiana Bur's 2016 thesis, see p5, p24, p28).

If the people of God cannot see the image of the star spangle of heaven, high and lifted up on a flag pole, are they not blind? If the people of God are serving or pledging allegiance to OBJECTS, are they not blind? If the people of God are serving or pledging allegiance to SYMBOLS, are they not blind? If the people of God are serving or pledging allegiance to IMAGES, are they not blind? If the people of God don't know that serving or pledging allegiance to the flag is idolatry, because the flag is an OBJECT, are they not blind? If the people of God don't know that idolatry is through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem, are they not blind? If the people of God don't know that when the US plays the anthem at the sound of music the US stand on their feet and worship the image of the star spangle of heaven with a song, are they not blind? If the people of God cannot see the idols of the nations high and lift it up on a flag pole, are they not blind? The US is worshipping the image of the star spangle of heaven. Israel is worshipping the image of the star remphan of heaven. Japan is worshipping the image of the sun of heaven. Mexico is worshipping the image of the eagle of the earth. Canada is worshipping the image of the maple leaf of the earth.
If you knew my abusers and their barbaric abuse to me you would defonratly think again to try to murder some one inorder to remove their hair This is gaslighting abuse and I'm certain this is some thing they would say
