Opening hands determine your game. It's most important part of game. Plus hand size so you can properly evaluate the threats due to resources.

Showing the opening hands in cedh is especially useful.

Nadu player stumbled a bit. Green sun for dryad arbor keeps lotus petal - turn two nadu after removal. Turn 3/4 opens up with the bird out

I greatly enjoyed getting to see Ashling and Six in action! Ashling really popped off and I thought had the game for sure. From MH3, I'm probably most excited to play with Volatile Stormdrake. I finally get to enjoy the power of Gilded Drake at an affordable price point (proxies aside haha)!

I think opening hands provide interesting context on the first view turns and showing potential thought process on mulligans

So we use spell table for the gameplay, then for this one people used the moxfield playtest feature and obs virtual webcam to record their screens

Love the inclusion of opening hands I think mh3 is looking quite fun for commander id say my favourite card from the set is tamiyo already working on a cedh flip on turn 1 or 2 and win with value

@@DeadOnBoardMTG Hm, I see.. doesn't look like his list has a 2nd shuffle titan or something that lets him infinitely rummage through his deck (like Shenanigans). Was thinking he'd just be able to infinitely rummage, killing everyone w/ lightning bolt as he goes through deck over and over.

I took some ideas from there six list. Been working on mine since it was spoiled. It’s definitely my favorite of the “New” cards

As a cradle tutor for sure! It’s so hard to interact with being his cast trigger it’s near uncounterable and comes in untapped, you can also grab shifting woodland, ezone, etc. The 4cmc hurts but the upsides are pretty big. You can mental misstep a crop rot, but this boy is resilient!

8:53 Aven interruptor gives a 2 cost tax. Ashling player couldn't actually play both top and faithless looting. Otherwise really great game, really interactive.

The card I’m most excited about is easily Coram. Wasn’t sure whether it was gonna be Necrobloom or not. Still building the Plant, but Coram just screams Jund Value and does a whole lot!

Vexing Bauble is my favorite sleeper card of the set. I'm all in on that card being busted on the play and not a no-interaction card because of the sacrifice effect. I've gotten very positive feedback in the cEDH discord community during games testing it in my Slicer list. I think it's a staple in 3c or less and I still think it will find a slot in 4c and 5c good stuff.

Excited for warren soultrader ral and ashen to put into my decks.

First my favorite card from the set is Ashling as soon as I saw it I know I was making the deck. I was able to get my hands on the portrait art foil version that first day and had a decent part of the deck made before the night was over. Second I feel like I'm missing something. Couldn't dehflergen have used the exiled fork on fury storm in response to the get lost to put the combo back on top of the stack and won at instant speed? The endurance wouldn't stop the combo and the aven interrupter wasn't in hand yet, so without further interaction that looks like it would have won to me.

So the reason he didn't fork over top was that he had the wheel on the stack, he realized he messed up by Wheeling instead of just casting a ritual and furry storming over that, as ashling would let him loot through till he found his breach and win that way

@DeadOnBoardMTG Admittedly, I haven't looked at the decklist, but with a ritual, a shuffle titan and, a burn spell, ashling doesn't need Breach. Having the wheel on the stack doesn't stop the win. With ashling you can cast an instant speed spell in response the the triggered discard and loop your deck with the shuffle titan hitting the ritual and burn spell once each time through the deck to burn the table out. All at instant speed with the wheel never resolving before you win the game.

That's a cool way to win but this list doesn't have the shuffle titan so there wasn't a way for him to loop, and anything he dug toward would be discarded by the wheel

I realized after the fact and had two different options, so I still had up treasure so I can combo off on his upkeep as he didn't have any removal or if I had realized I could have gone for infinite mana with clouds tone and then bounced my recruiter to get the batista that way

Yeah but hidden had enough mana to activate heliod on his upkeep to combo him off after the protection eneded

I really like ashling. People are losing their mind about Nadu but it is a glass canon in my opinion. It is cool but too commander centered for me to build.
