Cam (Eric Stonestreet), Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), and Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) visit Cam's childhood Missouri farm for the first time. When Cam’s grandmother drops by to visit, it’s revealed that the family never told her about his sexuality. Cam doesn’t know how to break it to Mitch, so he introduces Mitch to Gram as Bud, their new farm hand. Just when things can't get more complicated, a tornado warning hits. (Season 5 Episode 8).

it reminds me of another episode where mitchell laughed after manny told him about how his friends were unhappy with cam when he was directing the school musical. i’m pretty sure that was also a break in character.
