Living the retail job life is stressful, but in this case isn't it Wojak to blame for his predicament? He found ways to earn $1k twice and each time blew it all on a crypto scam. He could have just paid the mortgage and spent the saved time on learning a new skill.

You know part of me disagree's with this notion that low wage jobs are slavery (i earn less than 20.00 and am not on salary and hour myself) however the longer i live the more i believe it may be an apt comparison. You see even though we are payed; it is only a subsistence pay that provides very little extra to put towards social mobility with things like going back to school; and much like the chattel slaves, we are given only enough to survive so we can continue being exploited; so saying it cant be slavery due to compensation simply isn't a strong enough argument. Now the only flaw in this perspective is the nature of the violence used to capture and contain slaves; while things like beatings, lynchings and rapes are not in any way comparable to being poor; let us consider for a moment that being impoverished still hurts you and will even end up killing you if given enough time. The consequences of having no money can be just as painful and dangerous as beatings but leave none of the bad optics and because it happens over such a long period of time and usually out of public view; society doesn't realize or care. "The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of democracy, a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not dream of escape. A system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, slaves would love their servitude." - Aldous Huxley (There is a common belief online this quote was misattributed to Huxley as no one was able to find a citation in any of his books; it turns out this quote came from Huxley; but was something he wrote for another authors book. Some say it was a forward while others argue it was printed on the back)

Everyone should get paid at least $12.00 per hour for 8 hours per day and work five days per week AKA 40 hours per week. AKA $4,800.00 per week and four times that per month. Wojak should not be poor on the streets based on those numbers just for one job he works 3 jobs that pays 48 hundred per week in that case he can legally sue them companies for that much money because he's being under paid and not laid!

The question is: why did he have a morgage in the first place? And why did he spend his money on a cryptocurrency while suffering over a month to keep his house? think about it. there were several poor financial decisions made before it even started. you never invest any money you rely on, only disposable income. and if you dont have any, do not invest ever. I found a saying I like in that context: "Poverty is a scam, because being poor makes you poorer."

Sure... his wage was crap, but it's still his fault for risking money he can't afford to risk. In Wojak's case, it doesn't matter how much they pay him he will just keep screwing up if he risks money necessary for basic sustenance and not freezing to death... Always pay your rent or Morgage first.. This one was just painful, it wasn't even anyone elses fault. (Coincidentally a financial advisor just called me before I watched this and wanted to help me manage my money, I told him I'm doing ok on my own, no thanks.)(And yeah, I'm not putting myself on the street so I'm doing fine :D )
