Modern Conversations | With Alexandra Georgakopoulou, Daniel Miller, and Rebecca Roache

Conversation plays a vital role in how we represent ourselves and come to understand our own identities. We have more ways to communicate with one another than ever before and, from smart phones to social media, more of those conversations are taking place online. But is there more to this than a mere increase in communication? Do these different channels of communication change the nature of communication itself? And what might all this mean for our sense of self and identity? We explore what philosophy, linguistics, and anthropology can tell us about our distinctly modern conversations.
