Hello sir i did sme procedure as u shown in vedio ... i got less displacement result as compare to without damper ...but ...when i provide the damper to the model the base shear is increasing as compare to without providing damper ..i knw its may be wrong result i m just confuse plz suggest me something about this result.

Sir, i provided fluid viscous damper using Sap2000. After analysing the results of interstorey drift is same as compare to bare frame model. Is their any mistake in putting values of stiffness n damping coefficient?

Standard dampers has specification from the manufacturer.

Damper should reduced displacement as well as acceleration. You have checked displacement, its reduced, ok. what about acceleration!!?? I have done the same, displacement is reduced but acceleration seemed to increased by about 40%. Why's that. It will be great if you make clear. thanks in advance.

Sir I don't think you calculated the Weight correctly, 98 Kg is 1 KN Not 500, Force of 500 is probably related the capacity.

The weight supposed to be 0.98 kN, not 500👍🏻
