Geoff Swift makes model locomotives for British Railways and in his spare time makes model trams. C/Us of Geoff tending to details of his scale models. Various shots of a tram being assembled then being sent on its way around the track in his garden. He has model drivers too which he places in the tram. We see trams moving around the garden track.

    This is what social historians call the 'Sunday best effect'. When having your photograph taken or being filmed was a rare event, you made sure you were wearing your best clothes, even if you're hop-picking or washing windows! It can give us a false impression that everyone in the past was alway dressed to the nines.

    I never knew 60's film was this crisp and clean! I'd assume it would be a little lesser of quality, but no! This looks beautiful. It looks like it was filmed in the 80's!

    60s camera quality was oftenly used upto the 2000s and this isn't even the most advanced of the 60s!

    They started to use video tapes in the 80s which of much lower quality then 16mm film

    I love the 60s sounds of the music in this ... it makes me feel and takes me back to when I was just a little boy, born in 1964. Good times.

    What is intersting besides the tram is the garden. No silly: Patio set Decking Outdoor kitchen Gazebo Plastic shed Plastic childrens toys. I remember when garden were predominantly for plants and usually quite a lot of lawn.

    I started in the 1960s but returned to this gauge in the 2020s. I built a garden tramway screwing old Bonds brass rail to decking boards. The line is somewhat overgrown now and I have a short double track in the garage as whenever I dare to go out in the garden the terrier next door tries to destroy the fence and bark until I go in! I built a Leicester car c.1947 and a London E3 c, 1952 (as I can remember those).

    Look up Tramway and Light Railway Society. Or TLRS. Formed in 1938 and still going strong. They hold and are responsible for a collection of historic model trams.
