Now that was a helpful and highly instructional video. The turnbuckle was an excellent tool I had never considered. Thanks.

Thank you so much! Back in October my 26 TT lost its two front valve stems. Thanks to your video I was able to change the tubes yesterday without much trouble!

I have split rimes, but unlike the videos Ive seen mine take a heck of a job getting them back, spreading the overlap!

cut the threads back on the turnbuckle so you can turn it easier. Great video!

The use of powder is not so great, it will stay slippery and the tire could slip on the rim under high load conditions like braking on the back wheel. The tire lube used in a tire shop is a better alternative. It will eventually dry and the tire will stick to the rim better.

The rims people freak out about are the "clincher" rims, not the "split" ones like these. They're two different styles.

The rims people freak about are heavy equipment rims that have a locking collar and they are no joke. rim These are like changing a clincher (like a bicycle, a bit more adulting) only easier. A screw type rim spreader tool makes it easier.

Done both, no big deal. I was the kid with a screwdriver that fixed all my friends flat tires on their bikes with a tube repair kit. Life is as hard as you make it.

Ever noticed how in films of WWI military vehicles the wheels often have solid rubber tires?

Next time- have your wife to the tire mounting! That way you won't here the door creaking open!. Very good video, by the way.

No powder needed. No soap water. Use a rachet strap. I did all four in an hour.

It has to do with people being ignorant and not educating themselves by investigating on their own. This isn't "THAT" type of split rim.
