Plywood is better but be sure to paint those anti-rotting red paint at the underside I forgot what it was called

I guess the hull of this model is made from GRP, laminated out of a negative mould. Or maybe the hull was built as classic plank on frame with keel, stem & stern contours as well as frames cut from plywood and planked with strips of obeche or balsa and subsequently made water resistent and given the hull additional strength by laminating glas fabric mats covered in epoxy resin on the outer shell while painting only the inside with resin.

The company that produced the hull no longer exists. It ceased trading.
