Absolutely - and thank you! I try to have some general goals but I also build on a whim a lot of the time :)

Ive made the meng mk.v tank, lovely kit. Ive left every hatch open to see inside as much as i can. Also the sponsons are a good tight fit so you can fit them without glue and remove them when you want to!!👍🏻👍🏻 Solmodel make a lovely looking set of figures for the m10 achilles, expensive as they are 1/16 but look really nice!!

All these kits are definetly going to be fun for you,and on the subject of the Meng Mark V,it is an absolute joy to put together and paint,and the weathering is also fun as it is a flat rhombus.The grasshopper looks to be an amazing and fun subject aswell,and because of you,I might even pick it up!I hope that the new year will be the best one yet,and a Happy new year!

It's not nerdy to be passionate about things that really happened. I get accused of being a nerd by people who collect Warhammer or Pokémon. I only tend to like things like army men or Airfix, because their based on real life events and people. I don't care for "melter cannons" or "wood elves" I'd rather paint a Dr. Fokker or a Legion of Rome instead!!!! I recently ordered some English civil war infantry and I got my Vikings and Normans a couple of days ago.

I love your modeling videos you seem not to be one of them stuck up model makers who think they are the greatest thing to have come to military modeling i am an american if lwas an englishmen i'll probably hang out with you to get tips you are a level above me but i've come a long way since i've got back into this hobby you have a mellow voice so jesus made you a perfect person to do what you do i am 63 i started military models around 1972 i've started up again in 2011 but your given me alot of ideas thank you

i got the 1/16th AH Achilles a few days ago, my first ever in that scale. I agree about the figure problem. I found some free 1/35th tank crew and 3d printed scaled up. Only recently got a 3d resin printer so its all new to me. Stowage sets you can buy are so so expensive.. amazing detail yet not far off the price of the main kit alone.. Found some aftermarket decals just about to order

Hello dearest, I was very pleased to see the two roundups of finished models and dioramas of 2023 and those you will make in 2024. Awesome! Awesome!! I have about 25 kits in various stages of "completeness" from the early 2000s to present. Every year I keep promising myself I will complete a few of them - still waiting on that MIRACLE to happen..... My main goal for this year is to finish up a Tamiya 1:35 scale Tiger 1 early version in Japanese colors/markings. The Japanese actually bought 1ea Tiger, 1ea Panther D, and a few Panzer IIIs during WWII. They had crews being trained by the Germans in France but, of course, could not get those vehicles back to Japan. The Germans eventually took the vehicles back and used them. Always thought that a Tiger 1 in Japanese colors/markings would look awesome and something different. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for your 2024 videos based on the kits you reviewed. The repair wagon based on your creativity is one of my favorites shown. Your " modeling studio " must look Amazing. Digressing from modeling, during my sabbatical, I would purchase retired gas cylinders and build huge wind chimes. They weigh a ton but being built from carbon steel have perfect reassonance . During one purchase I acquired 4 Nazi cylinders. Their life time can be up to 75 years. The Swastikas had been stamped over , they belonged to Linde Industrial gas. I had to finish and sell them before retiring. Back to modelling, I want to build the Airfix Lancasters radial and Merlin engines with ground crew support Two P38's of MOH pilots in Pacific, the 4 Tamiya kits special editions with crew vehicles. If I get that far I have plan B.. Incorporating a repair or support type of diorama, definitely highlights the functionality of any model in its combat role. Best of luck and Have a Happy New year. Sounds like some great plans. The Tamiya special release look like a good deal. I don't know why I don't build more 1/48 vehicles to go with my aircraft. Something like a refueller or a fire/rescue truck. That's crazy how long those cylinders survived!

A fine line-up for 2024, MN. It'll be good to see the ones already on the bench completed, in particular, the farmyard tank conversion Battle of the Bulge scene. Otherwise, it will be great to see how you tackle the new kits throughout next year. For me no real planning ahead, I just pull out the oldest kit in the stash and give it a go. I need to finish the WNW Sopwith Pup and the CSM Lanchester first then decide (the Hasegawa Akagi will be a year-long project....800+ parts!). Here's to Happy New Year of modelling :)

Yes, I'm looking forward to building that one. I built their A7V before I had my KZread channel - again, a great kit but I was disappointed that there was no engine in it. That leaves a big gap in the interior.

Andy of AHH is justifiably proud of his 1/16 scale kits, his builds are mouth watering. I’m positive there are 3D printable crew figures in other scales available that could be scaled up, if the loss of resolution isn’t too awful. The Hellcat saw service in many theaters. Perhaps build the three representing as wide a geographic spread as possible? Whatever you choose, we’ll be here for it.

I replied further up about 3d print tank crew..yes but alas no TD crews as such although i explained further up what am doing at the moment. My first AH kit or any at this scale.. Alas the late Shermans didnt float my boat but if earlier versions came out oh yes....

A nice set of models to be made there. I think the Tamiya 1/35 Achilles comes with a set of 4 figures all teamed up as if they have just acquired a target, so all in all a great model for a diorama.. I think 1/16 is good for the RC tanks but a little big for static models, although I have built the AHHQ 1/16 Willys Jeep. As I have also restored a 1:1 Willys jeep I was a little disappointed at the kit, especially in the chassis area, so I don't know how accurate the 1/16 Achilles will be.

Interesting to know, thanks. I guess a Willys Jeep is a good subject for 1/16 due to its size, but an Achilles isn't small even in 1/35.

Yes the Jeep is very small in 1/35 but a good size in 1/16. It is also a great kit to super detail. I really got into it knowing the full size vehicle quite well. 1/16 tanks are rather big and take up a lot of shelf space. A 1/16 diorama would be massive.@@ModelNerd

great kits very much looking forward to the prince of wales getting finished off, I have to get my workspace built before I can start on my ever growing list of things to do as i Bought the Airfix British Jet bundle to get through on top of the Navy to finish off then might pluck up the courage to do some tanks then a F1 car

Border models have recently released a 1/32nd scale Avro Lancaster Dambuster aircraft. That's just way too big for my liking at the moment

Same here! After building the HK 1/32 Lancaster I'd have no space for another!

I can see where the Hellcat would be blue for over in the Indian Ocean/Pacific Theatre, as it makes sense not to use a Camo pattern like the Japanese, and all US Navy/Marine Aircraft were pretty much a shade of blue.

I'm still waiting for andy's hobby headquarters to announce the modern British afv in 1/16 . I guess he's forgotten by now. I would like to see you build that achilles in 1/16 though.

Good! Glad to see you are in to 1/350 battleships. Like thousands of us out here who have extensive collections of Tamiya and Trumpeter battleships in that scale, I hope you share our frustration, and yes, rage, regarding those companies obdurate refusal to issue a 1/350 HMS Vanguard. What the hell is wrong with them? Every WWII battleship, including a French one built afterward are available, but no Vanguard. It’s one of the most beautiful and all around perfect battleships ever built. No other ship would complement a display row including comparative ships like Bismarck, Hood, Richelieu, Missouri, Littorio, KGV, Yamato, Kongo, et al. Sorry, but the 1/450 Hasegawa/Heller kit is out of scale and just doesn’t cut it. The same seems to be true for the 1/700 waterline battleships. These manufacturers act like producing a HMS Vanguard would give them leprosy.

I got mine ages ago, from HLJ I think. It's quite a rare kit. Even when it was first released it was tough to find.

8:09 - RAF removed red color off their aircraft, because army & anti gunners were mixing British roundel with Japanese giant sun. They must've bad eyesight? Bar was added for extra measure.

The 1/35 ones can be pretty big, for sure. I don't really make models for sale - I find it is quite stressful with time and shipping, etc.

i have enough kits in my stash , if i built one a month it would keep me going for thirty six years, but sadly the real world had put a stop to any modelling i do now, in fact i haven't done a thing in a year and half, but my biggest barrier to buying new stuff is the price, most kits are just too over priced, £200 for a ship model or £80 for a tank, yeah right, so the kids who follow use old guys, how the hell do they afford to buy them?

36 years? Wow, that's a lot of kits! Yes, kits can be quite expensive these days, but there are also some cheaper ones out there or sales at certain times. E.g. at the moment Airfix has a sale with some 1/35 kits for under £20.
