Model Ghost Train

This is a 1/48th. scale working model of Pepper Biddall’s travelling ghost train that I help him and his sons Alf and John to build in their yard in Sunbury-on-Thames in 1970. I worked on the ride in my spare time when it travelled with Rose’s Funfair around the Home Counties in subsequent years. Things have gone full circle …. Having designed and built many new rides in the subsequent 50 years, I have now rebuilt my first ever ride (but in miniature!)

I remember this ride well from my childhood. My father worked at Heathrow installng the radar in the early days and we regulalry went through Sunbry. I adore your models thank you.

Looks wonderful! But I have to ask, have you built the rest of the ride inside? I'd love to see the route of the track and the ghosts lighting up as the trains rattle around.
John a remarkable build. But could you put up an episode of the techniques to how you built the miniature and its animation to make the gondola cars move? Truly brilliant! Jim in N.Y, U.S.A.
