Mod Joystick - Making Low Cost
In this video you can see how to change the joystick thrustmaster hotas x, and turn it into a helicopter joystick 5-axis for pc.
The project you see here was actually built through a lot of labor and the use of modern technology like a 4 axis CNC.

Awesome, didn't know you could do this. would like to make my own dials/knobs for magneto and mixture in flight sim
To mod the stick all I need to do is exstind the wire run it up new pipes mount good to go
liked the video! what soldering tool are you using for connecting the wires? it looks so convenient with just one hand!

Hi K V, it's a very common welder, you can find it on the internet, look for soldering station, you can find a cheap one for 20 euros, you can adjust the temperature and it's very light and easy to handle.

I am so frustrated with my joystick. Had issues with drift and roll, so i cleaned it out. Still have issues, and now i have the worst creaking sound as well. I have tried re lubricating but still makes the noise. Have contacted thrustmaster to no avail! They have not returned my email! AAAARRRRRGH

Sheldon Gannon use stuff called DeoxIT Gold. Use just a small amount on each of the potentiometers, one at a time, working them back and forth as you spray. It’s expensive but not only cleans and lubricates the pots, but it also protects them. Cured my drifting problems. As for the creaking, a SMALL amount of white lithium grease in the ball joint and spring chamber works nicely. GL
