We went with the uppababy over every other stroller out there - and we sure tried out almost all of them! There were two big selling points for us. First, it easily turns into a double that works with a wide variety of ages. We went through IVF so there's no telling how long it'll take for us to have our second child. Second, it has the bassinet feature that's sleep safe. There were other less important selling points for us, particularly the handle that extends upwards as we are tall parents!

We love our Mockingbird!! We wanted a stroller with a bassinet and the Vista was the only stroller that had one...then I saw a Mockingbird advertisement online and your review, so we took a chance. We spent $510 to get the stroller, bassinet, bug net, infant insert, and handlebar organizer. It’s such a great investment and such great quality!

Mrs. Easterly I have the vista and the bassinet was the only thing my baby slept in the first couple of months. The thing is that I looked at the mockingbird and their website calls their product a “carriage” and not a bassinet. The biggest thing for me is that I wanted something rated for overnight sleep and it doesn’t seem the mockingbird accessory is rated for overnight sleep. Hence their inability to market it as an actual bassinet. It was important for me to have a safe sleeping option in addition to a flat surface for stroller rides.

  • @mrs.easterly6731

We just wanted a bassinet as it provides the preferred orientation for baby when on the go. We don’t let our baby sleep in it unsupervised because the solid walls are a suffocation hazard. Besides that, the quality of the Mockingbird and Vista were the same and I have no problem with it not being overnight rated.

I Really wanted an Uppababy Vista not long after I found out I was pregnant but my husband wasn’t a fan of the price. I stumbled across your first mockingbird review video and was sold almost instantly. They look almost identical with an insane price difference. I made my husband watch your video and he was almost as excited as I was. Our son isn’t due until November but I can’t wait to purchase the mockingbird for him. Thank you for making this video!

I have the 2018 Uppababy Vista, and I can say that I bought it with not just quality in mind like you said, but we plan on having another baby in about a year so I wanted that option to hold two kiddos with it and the large under basket is great too. I’ve had one or two moms try to make fun of me for spending the money of the Vista, but frankly, I think it’s sooo worth it, and will never feel ashamed for purchasing such a beautiful piece.

We purchased our Mockingbird back in June and love it! I've gotten so many complements on the stroller/bassinet. People seem to find the sun shade makes the stroller look "futuristic"-not feedback I was expecting to hear, but okay. Their customer service has also been spot on, and it was nice to know that we could try the stroller out for 30 days risk free with free shipping both ways should we decide to go with another choice. We kept it for it's affordability and quality and have no regrets.

FYI I contacted Mockingbird and this was their response about a double stroller: "We are working on an expandable double stroller in the very near future. It’s looking like we’ll be able to release it as soon as March/April (though we’re still firming up that timeline), and it’ll be a new model (rather than adapters for the current model). "

I have the mockingbird stroller, and for the most part I love it. My baby is only 5 weeks old, so I have only used it with the carriage attachment which is sold separately. The ride quality is really nice and smooth. The storage basket is huge and is great when going to the store. Mockingbird also has a LIFETIME warranty. The one thing I’m not a fan of is the release to remove the seat/carriage. You need to press the buttons on both sides at the same time while some how pulling up at the carriage to remove it. I don’t know about you, but I only have two hands and find this to be difficult when putting the stroller away. At some point, I would like to upgrade to the vista for the ease of the one hand release. It seems much more convenient.

One difference you didn't cover is Uppababy's included accessories. It comes with the bassinet and all the bug nets and rain shield. Looking at Mockingbird, they have a 'carriage' but at least from what they advertise it isn't overnight sleep approved like the Vista bassinet. Either way I got my 2015 Vista used for $300 including car seat adapters for Cybex. Another thing Mockingbird doesn't have. It has lasted for 4 years and I know that if anything breaks, Uppababy sells replacement parts.

Now if we can speed up time so the baby can arrive! All that is left is to figure out what infant carseat that works with mockingbird. From just pushing around the mockingbird empty it feels great and I love the ability to change the seat direction. That is a feature I was a big fan of.

Thanks for the honest review. Your last video on the mockingbird almost sold me for the product. It’s great that more competitions are entering the stroller market to push the big brands to innovate and provide better customer service! I had a hard time deciding between Uppababy vista and the mockingbird. So far the lack of actual customer reviews really make me hesitate to make the call. At the end, we’ve decided to go with the uppababy Cruz as it’s more comparable to the mockingbird stroller(both single strollers, but lighter). The uppababy Cruz comes with a rain shield and bug shield, when you add the extra costs to the mockingbird, the cost different between these strollers become minimal. Most of new moms are able to get a 15% baby registry completion discount from Amazon for uppababy strollers, and I was able to get mine for 20% off from a online retailer. So the costs comparison is uppababy Cruz for $440 vs mockingbird for $350+$30, it’s only a $60 difference. I think the proven brand reputation and quality of uppababy definitely worth the extra $60. Besides, I think the pull out sun shade from Uppababy is much more convenient than a removable sun shade. We are also planning to purchase the piggy back board down the road when we have a second baby.

Our concern was the small back tires on the Cruz not price so we then looked into the vista and because of the weight limit on the second seat we weren’t sure if it would really be a good option because we may or may not be able to use the stroller how it was truly intended if our children are spaced too far apart. Also we most likely would not be using the rain shield or the net so not a big deal breaker.

Just ordered my mockingbird single to double! I actually really like that all the accessories need to be purchased separately bc I don't give two craps about the carriage and I can save the extra money by not getting it. I'm just gonna use the car seat adapter & the infant insert for when I want my baby to use the seat it comes with (for much cheaper & more options). Two questions: 1) does the stroller come with the full sunshade? it's not clear & i don't see it as an accessory item for purchase. 2) Has anyone with the mockingbird found a snack tray attachment that works? I won't need it for a while so maybe they'll come out with one in the meantime but I can't imagine not at least having a cup holder...

Thank you for this review! I have been going back and forth between the Vista, Mixx and Mockingbird. The only thing that I’m hung up on is the wheel size differences. We live in a rural area so our strollering terrain, even when paved isn’t the smoothest. I plan on also getting a jogging stroller for gravel and really rough terrain (I’m between BOB and Thule). Do you have any insight on how the wheel size of each of these strollers affects the smoothness of their ride? Vistas wheels are the largest so I would assume smoothest? And Mockingbird is smallest, with Mixx in between. Which do you think has the smoothest ride or would be best in a rural area.

I live in a very rural area. We went with the mockingbird because of price and it hasn't let us down- for the most part. Deep gravel and sand aren't great, but we've taken it on lots of hiking trails, cracked sidewalks, light gravel roads/trails, etc and it's been a pretty smooth ride.

Don't, they're basically identical strollers. If you wanted a double expandable stroller, mockingbird is releasing one in a month or two and it's available for preorder right now. You can also try your mockingbird for 30 days and return it (with paid return shipping) if you don't like it.

We decided on the Uppababy Cruz because its a more well known brand. When we want to buy accessories I know they will be widely available, whereas with the Mockingbird is a new company and could be out of business in a few years when we want more accessories (like the piggy board when we have another baby). Even though the Mockingbird is cheaper, I felt more secure going for a more established brand. Thanks for the comparison!

The handlebar is also too low at the middle position. At the higher position, it makes hitting the brake bar even worse. The infant car seat adapter is supposed to be universal, but as other customers also indicated it is awful for Nuna Pippa, it just clicks on one side and on the other side it is basically relying on two velcro straps, very flimsy and unsafe. The fact that they claim it is safe to use their stroller with Nuna car seat doesn’t seem to be true and makes us question their company.. UppaBaby stroller works great with both these carseats.

Thanks Nicolet! I hadn’t heard that about the 2019 pipa not fitting right on the mockingbird. Rethinking my whole travel system again.

@@dadverb I know it’s been a couple years and the double stroller is out now. Did they resolve the nuna pippa fitting in the Mockingbird? If the adaptor is the same as before where it’s Velcro, I think that will be a big determining factor in choosing Uppababy so that the Nuna seat fits securely.

But you never mention the fact vista comes with a bassinet, rain cover bug shield for free included in price. Where football others you have to buy separate! The bar in the basket helps for balancing stroller because it sits 2

You can also use the bassinet as a bassinet in your room and you can purchase stand separate.

Covered that in the full Mockingbird review I did previously. You can buy the bassinet and accessories a la carte and altogether it's still $480 versus $900, still making it more affordable and appealing to some parents.

Both are bumpy and not nearly as good as an air-filled option like the Bumbleride Era. But between these two, the Vista wins because if its larger wheels.

Emma Yow I’m confused because I keep seeing these comments .... why would a baby sleep in that overnight anyways? Isn’t that what a crib or something like the Halo bassinet is for?

@@RoyaltyBabe90 I had the same question. What kind of parent has their baby sleep overnight in stroller?? Even in a hotel or something I would still bring a Dockatot or fold out crib.

They have a car seat adapter that fits Chicco, Graco and some other popular carseats (check their website) but it is very easy and I love it.
